What winter shall bring. April 9, 2015. With all the snow on the ground I figured that I’d use the opportunity the see the Rivanna. The ground was frozen and covered with snow. As I walked to the river, I could see delicate paw prints of tiny animals that ran across the path. The prints were preserved very well in the icy snow that covered every square inch of the field. Ecoli is a bacteria found in the intestines and feces (poop) of mammals and is harmful to humans if too much is ingested. It is one of the many indicators of stream quality. On the ground I saw a beautiful piece of moss which I took a picture of to put on my blog.
