If Paul McCartney could write a song about his dog, why cant we have some cats? Probably unsurprisingly, the ones with cats are a bit weirder.). A Community to Celebrate the Men of Classic Rock. Jul 2nd, 2011. Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett Story. Yesterday I went to see the brilliant Brit Floyd - the Pink Floyd Tribute Show. And they started with Shine on Your Crazy Diamond. While they played a video tribute to Syd Barrett. Next week (7th July) marks five years since Barrett's death, so here in full is the BBC documentary made in 2001 about his life. If you have a spare hour it's quite a good watch. Posted at 12:52 pm. A Community to Celebrate the Men of Classic Rock. Heres a great song from a perhaps not-terribly-well-known band, Badfinger. (Theyve got some tragic history; after initial success and some hits, they lost their financial backing, and eventually two members of the band committed suicide.)
