We have 18 quilts finished and ready to go to their new homes, as well as 3 tops pinned and ready for quilting, and I received another top a couple of days ago as well. Peoeple everywhere have been very generous, and what started out as a small project to help one particular family in need, has blown out to become a very large project indeed. http://quiltingjane.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Words and pictures of my quilting life. Thursday, April 30, 2015. A little random stitching. As in the last blog, I have been enthused. I have been doing some random and not so random stitching. A new group on Facebook OMG quilts has got me a little enthused, however I have projects to finish before I really get excited but I have had a little play. A little stitching each day seems to soothe the soul and make me happier! A small quiltlet, random, but fun stitching. 3 small pods. Friday, April 17, 2015.

This is a quilt top made by my friend Kate, I have nearly finished the quilting, although the border is looking a little lost at the moment, it has been fun, and has kept me sane! The feathers are soothing. A quilters helper, this is the back of the quilt. Some of Pauline's wonderful quilting. Oh dear there is the next big deadline! April 17, 2015 at 1:35 PM. Auchenfl...

A blue and white for my entry into the Queensland Quilters October show, more work on my hexagon quilt, and some fun stitching on some fun fabric by Ali George of Aliquilts. Announcemen...

Friday, 12 September 2014. So, The List. Well when not galavanting along deserted beaches with a pack of dogs or watching offspring do strange things like run up mountains I have made minute headway into The List. I did first of all actually have a go at some needlefelting! I've never done this type before and I now know what it's all about. I can't say it bit me after all how exciting is continually stabbing something. Not too unhappy with my little effort. Yes it's supposed to be a reindeer. Monday I f...

Words and pictures of my quilting life. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Indigo dyeing with friends. This last weekend, I had a lovely day off in the country dyeing with a very smelly vat of indigo dye. Such fun, I wore totally the wrong clothes! Some of my friends took off their clothes, at least I was restrained enough to leave my white skirt on and not spill any! I wrapped some small pebbles with thread in an old fashioned way, this one is yet to be undone, that's a job for today. Stitched, dyed and drying in...

Quilts to Books
The History of Quilts to Books. During the Cypress Ridge Elementary Celebration of Learning in May 2006, we displayed the 21 quilts created by the students. We raised $2,303 during the event. We took our money to Scholastic Book Warehouse where they matched our funds, allowing us to purchase $4,606 of new books. Students from our classes presented the project to other classes at our school. They even shared the project with the Clermont City Council. Many people from our community came to see our quilts.
