Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. Albert Einstein. Most people find it hard to believe that everyone is gifted, only IQ measures how clever we really are, and our potential success in school and career depends on that IQ number. The fact is, all of us are gifted but in different ways. Einstein said that too. Some of us love to study the links between unrelated things, the mosquitoes and a tsunami, sand ...

Parenting Adolescent

Having raised 3 teenagers by now, they are already in their late teens and teenage is almost over I can reflect and say that fortunately, my kids did not give me teenage heartaches except for very small, transitional ones. I am not sure if I sound really harsh, but if I do, then perhaps I have overly emphasized the importance of being a parent and not a friend, for a good reason. Leave me a comment in the box below.

Visual Spatial Learners
http://www.all-gifted.com/visualspatiallearners.html
Visual spatial learners won't show workings on their Maths papers and derive answers in the strangest ways and methods not taught in schools. They choose to be too creative in their 'creative writing' classes and irk their teachers. Do you have one at home? Adult Visual Learners Learn to Compromise. For example, in our Math paper, we get no marks when we do not show the steps that make sense to the teacher/marker, even if our answers are correct, even in the university. Great Educators Matter
http://www.all-gifted.com/greateducators.html
Great Educators make Great Students. I was touched by how instead of screaming at my nine-year-old daughter, he put his arms around her shoulders and explained to her that the greatest tragedy is to have to ever lie to a parent who cares, because the parent is someone who will stand up for her no matter what happens. . Unfortunately, a principal like that is often under appreciated. It is not only about Academic Results. Trying to reform myself from the inattentive mum, I asked about the future of my chi...

Click image to read the article. When Eve asked to feature my children in her article, I asked her for the definition of "prodigy" because different words can mean different things to different people, and I have never thought my kids belong to that category. Her answer was "to do things ahead of his peers". The article and interestingly quite a few of the parents there echo my views. :).
