MooreQuilts: June 2014
http://moorequilts.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Have you ever fallen so much in love with making a pattern that you just couldn't stop? Earlier this year I took a class on making pineapple blocks using a wonderful new ruler that makes them easy peasy. In fact, they are so easy and fun to make that I actually ended up making 80 blocks. Yep, 80! Without borders, my quilt measured 80 x 100. I don't even own a king sized bed! So they looked at it from one perspective. So I decided to throw them all into a pineapple quilt of their o...

MooreQuilts: 2014's UFOs
http://moorequilts.blogspot.com/p/much-of-my-2013-to-do-list-should-look.html
A slightly reduced list from the last two years. Eventually, I'll get all of these finished! This is my 2010 Pizza Box blocks from Dogwood Quilt Guild. Two of the members, knowing how cat crazy I am, machine appliqued cats for me. My instructions on this project told everyone to make any sized blocks out of a selection of batiks. I have 12 blocks, so I'll need to make a few more (more cats, now that I know how to applique? To do: add blocks and borders, make backing, quilt, bind, label. UFO # 2 -. This i...

MooreQuilts: Retreat projects
http://moorequilts.blogspot.com/2014/03/retreat-projects.html
Thursday, March 20, 2014. With retreat coming up next week, I've been trying to decide which of my MANY UFOs to take with me to work on. So far I've selected three. My third project choice is my chocolate quilt. I have actually gotten quite a bit done on this quilt recently, but I got sidetracked by the applique quilt (see Project 1 above). So many sidetracks that I think I've lost track of the main rail. So what's that bright light at the end of this current tunnel? The sun or the train? All the way over.

MooreQuilts: Happy Spring!
http://moorequilts.blogspot.com/2014/03/happy-spring.html
Friday, March 21, 2014. Well, spring is officially here, although you can't tell it yet by the temperatures * shiver* . We're in for below normal temps for our retreat next week. Yuck! Oh well, we are making quilts, aren't we? We'll just huddle under our creations. I hope to have some photos of THAT in the next post. :P In the meantime, here's an appropriate "huddle" photo for inspiration - Tessie making good use of my batting a few years back. Sigh Come on warm weather! Id love to hear from you! I love ...

MooreQuilts: Man and Woman's Best Friends
http://moorequilts.blogspot.com/p/mans-and-womans-best-friends.html
Man and Woman's Best Friends. All of our cats and dogs are rescue animals, adopted either from shelters or as strays. All are altered. Run, Butchie, run! Butch is a mutt that we adopted about fourteen years ago. Despite recent traumas associated with his absolute conviction that he can take on any big dog he sees, he is still going strong. He is hard of hearing, and he has cataracts, but he still runs with the big dogs, only a little more arthritically. What a beautiful dog Muffin is. She is the best...

MooreQuilts: More quilt cat photos!
http://moorequilts.blogspot.com/p/more-quilt-cat-photos.html
More quilt cat photos! My favorite photo of Sinbad, the Sin kitty. Tessie on HER quilt. Cut it out with the flash photography already! Sinbad stealing snuggle time on Tessie's quilt. Don't let her catch you, little boy! Sinbad feeling confident in his supremecy. Sinbad feeling OVER confident. Sinbad fighting back when Tessie finds him asleep on HER quilt. I DID try to warn him. Sinbad decided to take over the quilt when I tried it out on the bed. He immediately found that he had to defind his position.

MooreQuilts: Meet the Quilt Cats
http://moorequilts.blogspot.com/p/meet-my-family.html
Meet the Quilt Cats. All of my cats and dogs are rescue animals. They rule my life, my husband's life, and, most importantly, the sewing room! My best buddy, Sinbad. He always insists on testing out all of my new fabrics for comfort before I wash, iron, and store them. This stash got top marks! Anything for me at the fabric shop this week? Sinnie doing what he does best. Maxie (tuxedo) and Tessie (spotted tabby) chilling out together. What do you mean, this is supposed to be a work table? Apparently, Max...

MooreQuilts: Secrets revealed...
http://moorequilts.blogspot.com/2014/02/secrets-revealed.html
Thursday, February 13, 2014. Yes, I've been keeping secrets. For months. First, the quilting related secret. In November I was elected President of one of my local quilt guilds, Dogwood Quilters. I certainly didn't seek this position. I have my hands completely full at work right now (my school president retired in January, and my supervisor - the second in command - quit over the Christmas break), so I really,. Didn't want more work, but. We've been snowed in (I know, I know,. Has been snowed in! Name f...
