Sewing, quilting, scrapbooking and a little bit of everyday life. Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Snap Happy fever and yo-yo's. Finally, success with the Snap Happy pattern and more bags. The blue flowered one on the end has my sunglasses in it. They are oversized to fit over my eyeglasses, so it was hard to find a case they truly fit in. Links to this post. Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Snap Happy Bags and Single Digit winter. And Valentines Day is this month. My DS was born on Valentines Day and he is a re...

SewBernie: March 2015

Sewing, quilting, scrapbooking and a little bit of everyday life. Monday, March 9, 2015. Faux chenille potholders to baby quilt (um rug). Have you made faux chenille? Well I love texture and saw these little potholders at a local LQS and decided to give them a try. They are great in the kitchen, look good, work hard and launder up wonderfully. My hubby has big hands and he loves that I made them oversized, perfect for him. I like the extra protection they give me. Isn't that little animal print cute?

Quilter's Candy: April 2012
http://quilterscandy.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 15, 2012. Hey, I'm no hater, but when a Facebook friend recently flashed his quilt online and asked what we thought of it, I said out loud, "wow! It never occurred to me to put my. First, The Man Quilter. Now I don't know how many of you consider yourself kicking anything as you quilt, but that comes from being a member of the gentler sex. Surely, there is no Emily Post, or Dear Abby for quilting language. But several paragraphs later, I had to wonder if there should be. Liked it, too!

One Minnesota Quilter: April 2012
http://oneminnesotaquilter.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Common threads of this quilter's life. Monday, April 30, 2012. Busy sewing for the next two days. Today, it's all about 9-patches again. I have been busy doing a few other things (ahem, procrastinating) and need to have eight groups of eight (that's 64) 9-patches made by tomorrow night for my 1800's group. So, I will be busy at my sewing machine for the next day or two. Here are the fabrics that I am going to use to make the 3 1/2" blocks. In this post here. To see what others are working on today. Mary's Blog: Week One of Challenge
http://mary-the-sailor.blogspot.com/2015/07/week-one-of-challenge.html
A sporadic sharing of my quilting adventures and any other note worthy events. Wednesday, 22 July 2015. Week One of Challenge. My first attempt at doing the border was a fail. I didn’t bring the directions down from the sewing room to the living room where I was set up. Instead relied on my memory. Not completely my memory’s fault, given the poor quality of the print out it’s a wonder I even figured it out at all. How can you even tell what colours those are supposed to be? 22 July 2015 at 17:56. From th...

Mary's Blog: December 2014
http://mary-the-sailor.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
A sporadic sharing of my quilting adventures and any other note worthy events. Wednesday, 31 December 2014. Year End Summary–quilts this time. At this time last year, I did a count of quilts completed and had a personal best of 26 done. Not even close to that this year. I could only scape up 6 pictures of quilts I had finished. And one of those I had to use picture of it before being quilted since I rushed out of the house with it to a baby shower as soon as it came out of the dryer. From the top left, c...

Thought Bubbles': September 2012
http://bubblesthoughtbox.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 20, 2012. I have been going through a tough patch. I got pushed out of my job, my car broke down, the computer crapped out. And to top it off, my boyfriend is coming to visit for a few days. My house is in chaos right now, mostly because I have been spending so much time trying to distract myself from the fact that life decided to fall apart on me this summer. I have a big To Do List. And it is all urgent. Tuesday, September 18, 2012. I started looking at nutrition. How the foods ...

Thought Bubbles': July 2012
http://bubblesthoughtbox.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 31, 2012. I am going away sometime this week, and I need to have some hand work to do. I am looking at my WIP's and they are all machine work or need an iron, this is kinda frustrating. I don't have a crochet project that is ready to work on, and I am really needing something to keep my hands busy. I am thinking about taking the 'secret project' I started the other week. I have a little more machine piecing to do on it then it will be hand work, I just love crazyquilting. So I am feeling a ...
