Mouse Factory Designs: May 2014
http://mousefactorydesigns.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 31, 2014. Here it is, and I am pleased, not because I think it's great art, but because I finally think I'm finding my groove again. I am so very glad this turned out so well. Tuesday, May 27, 2014. This month the Fast Friday Fabric Challenge involves the use of the colour purple. The first thing I attempted went South quite quickly, so I had to find another idea. Since I may be teaching a Tyvek technique fairly soon, I decided to use Tyvek, to refresh my skills. Friday, May 16, 2014. There...

Mouse Factory Designs: August 2015
http://mousefactorydesigns.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 30, 2015. Evidently they are loosing a lot of business to the Internet and, to a lesser extent, to "cross-border-shopping". I know this is a problem all over. What will people do when there is no LQS to go into for advice and help? My husband suggested we take a look at other quilt stores in the province and make a day trip, if we could find the silk available. No such luck. My last resort? Monday, August 10, 2015. Which has lead to my fibre work and FMQ'g. Friday, August 7, 2015. I've bee...

Mouse Factory Designs: A Good Day's Work
http://mousefactorydesigns.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-good-days-work.html
Thursday, July 9, 2015. A Good Day's Work. Since DH gets very nervous if I try to tackle the basement stairs, he set up a work area for me out in the garage. He had a table set up,and covered, had all of my tools available, and took my IV pole out to hang the pieces on before and after they were done. Then, one at a time, each was sprayed, very carefully, and, yes, I wear a fine particle respirator when I use basting spray. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Mouse Factory Designs: March 2015
http://mousefactorydesigns.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 20, 2015. Yes, it will have to be a "landscape" format rather than "portrait". Which means that I need more space than the four linear feet I asked for at the upcoming art show. So I contacted the show organizer today and arranged for 8 linear feet. This just might allow for three pieces rather than two. Oh dear, need to get to work. My own worst enemy. Friday, March 13, 2015. I have started to bead the "Icarus' Dream" piece. This is proving quite a challenge to my poor old eyes, as I'm...

Mouse Factory Designs: Slow progress
http://mousefactorydesigns.blogspot.com/2015/07/slow-progress.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. I have finished two of the four practice pieces. The little black quilt was done entirely by "stitch-in-the-ditch", some free hand and some by regular machine stitching. Boy, did I ever need practice with that! There is really nothing that would show in a picture. The other one was fairly traditional feathers around a center oval, done with white thread on a pink and white fabric. I have to figure out how to photograph that to best advantage. Tuesday, July 21, 2015. The next picture is the finished quilt- although not yet beaded. The seed beads I've chosen are a matt finish and almost a perfect match in colour to the peach-y sections of the quilt. I have no idea what I'm going to do with these little quilts. I. Arting Around With Fibre: October 2012
http://artingaroundwithfibre.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Arting Around With Fibre. Wednesday, October 17, 2012. I have done three shoes. I will do more after Art Expo. The Paverpol takes two weeks to really cure so I am past the deadline for more Paverpol work. This is Silver Slipper. A happy accident in finding a fabric with three shades of the same print. (A thrift store find.) Conchos are from a leather belt with potato freshwater pearls added. This is Bronze Slipper. Snow dyed fabric and some heavy metal. lol. All this creativity has made me sleepy. Along ...
