Because somewhere along the line I gave up the attempt at being perfect. Monday, August 30, 2010. Not that I have an obsession or anything. Thursday, August 19, 2010. 7 Quick Takes-T-shirts, Books, and Movies. For more Quick Takes, visit Jen. And, no, I don't have one of those fancy Amazon accounts that lets me earn money when you click one of these links and buy the book. I just share my opinions on books for free because they aren't worth much more than that. I think I loved it for the places it touche...

Growing a family o' weeds. Writing} other places and spaces. Growing a family o’ weeds — tumbling along in God’s grace and beauty, planting seeds and raising our faces towards the sun. Make yourself at home. Here, let me clear the papers, the craft projects, the empty water cups from the table. Cuppa tea? Don’t mind the little one pulling on your chair, and the dog is very friendly, just wants to say hi. We’re a little over the top sometimes, over here. That’s how we roll. Years ago, I read this: But the...

Growing a family o' weeds. Writing} other places and spaces. July 17, 2015. Campbell c. hoffman. Will our house blow away? But we don’t live in Kansas! What’s going to happen? What about the electricity? Will we have to sleep down here? Will Daddy be able to get home? What are we going to do? It has been a season of changing landscapes. Things that were once as familiar as the freckles and veins on the back of my hand seem foreign to me now. It continues to change. As long as we’ve lived in this little h...

Growing a family o' weeds. Writing} other places and spaces. October 10, 2012. Campbell c. hoffman. I said yes that first time on top of a hill in a foreign world, looking out into the starry July night. I was a giddy school girl, smiling coyly I took this crush into my sweaty palms. I said yes, of course, with strings attached. Yes, but not yet (we. Serving in missions anyhow). I’ve said yes to you, digging through my closet to find the right dress, the one that skims my legs just right. Yes t...Countle...

Growing a family o' weeds. Writing} other places and spaces. Lessons from a hawk. May 12, 2015. May 12, 2015. Campbell c. hoffman. It’s lovely, because for the first time in seven years the demands on my physical presence are so much less. I don’t have to have eyes on everyone all the time. They can all handle the stairs on their own, the bathroom (mostly) on their own, can build forts on their own. For the first time in a long time, I have some breathing room. This is lovely. In the gift of this freedom.
