My semester adventure in Lismore, Australia
Abroad in Aussie Land: 2009-03-29
http://abroadinaussieland.blogspot.com/2009_03_29_archive.html
Saturday, April 4, 2009. Feels Like Home to Me. Aussies take it one day at time, they go with the flow and never look back. And this cultural norm has me hooked. Why can't we play a little more and freak out less? Life in the U.S. had me speeding around in my Escort (oohh how I MISS that car and driving with the music cranked up! This week I am off to Sydney and Melbourne for the Easter holiday with two of my good friends! My American friend Brittany and I, St. Patty's Day). Here's to you, Australia!
Abroad in Aussie Land: Beginning of the End
http://abroadinaussieland.blogspot.com/2009/06/beginning-of-end.html
Wednesday, June 10, 2009. Beginning of the End. I hate packing. Even back home when I moved between home and college, I hated it. It takes time and effort to pack efficiently. So I sit among my suitcases, hair ties, jewelry, and shoes and blog. I spent a relaxing weekend up in the Gold Coast at my friend Brad's house. His house is beautiful! They had a Starbucks! Tall caramel macchiato over ice, please. And the next day? June 11, 2009 7:24 AM. June 14, 2009 9:47 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Whitsundays and the greetings from Grandpa. Proof that Grandpa Wallis indeed sailed with me:. Because I don't. You may take this as just a "coincidence" but I like to think this was Grandpa's way of saying "hey girl, I'm right here with you! The beaches, islands and wildlife are so indescribable! We saw so many dolphins and sea turtles, and on the last day on the Reef, I got to swim with a sea turtle! The hostel we stayed at in Airlies called Beaches. Me and my Navy girl, Keri!

Sunday, May 24, 2009. We had some huge storms roll in off the coast and heavy rain settled in for nearly 3 days in Lismore. The wind gusts were up to 60mph and the creek flowing through downtown Lismore busted, overflowing into the street and soccer fields. Water in the street was over 4 feet high. My house is safe and dry. We are located on top of a hill so there was no chance of us getting flooded but I was still apprehensive as I've never experienced a true flood before! This WAS a soccer field!

Friday, May 8, 2009. What happens when you take Southern Cross uni students to a horse race with free drinks? Lots and lots of madness! Once each year, race day occurs and uni students take over the turf. We get dressed up and cheer on for those ponies. See it for yourself, our own "Kentucky Derby" in Lismore. Monday, May 4, 2009. Conversations with an Australian, Pt. 4. Australian: "Peanut butter and bread, that is. Me: "Well I would've added jelly but I didn't have any.". Me: "Yeah, it is.".

First dance – the Tippi Toes theme song:. I made sure to clap after the rest of the songs, though! Third dance – Winter Wonderland:.

A'Broad in Amman. 8230;A Journalist's Journey to Jordan. Day 8: A Journalist’s Journey to Jordan. Bull;June 15, 2009 • Leave a Comment. The last morning in Jordan was a hectic mess. I woke up to the sound of my alarm, skyped with my mom, and then ran out the door with my passport in hand and suitcases ready to go. The 12 and a half hour flight back to the United States was not fun, to say the least, but the good company of my trip-mates, a couple glasses of wine, and several slightly mindless movies made...
