Blog Zahav: Who is Yossi Gurvitz?
http://blogzahav.blogspot.com/2012/01/who-is-yossi-gurvitz.html
Can I have my Zionism back before you break it? Friday, January 6, 2012. Who is Yossi Gurvitz? You may remember him from his early reporting. Questioning the claim by the Israeli government that the terrorists responsible for the August 18 attacks near Eilat came from Gaza. Gurvitz suggested that the terrorists actually were Egyptian and came from the Sinai. Oh and by the way, in today's Jerusalem Post. You can read his bio and his blog here. I feel very honored to be part of this organization and to stand for re-election. I’d like to wish Talia, Edward, Virginia, Phyllis, and Howard the best of luck. I know whoever among us sits on the board will serve J Street well. This past summer I was privileged to lead J Street's solidarity mission. I ask for your vote and your support.

Blog Zahav: David Grossman: Window to a New Future
http://blogzahav.blogspot.com/2011/08/david-grossman-window-to-new-future.html
Can I have my Zionism back before you break it? Saturday, August 6, 2011. David Grossman: Window to a New Future. With apologies to Dr. Hoffman, my high school Hebrew teacher, and to the rest of the Hebrew speaking world, including most sincerely, David Grossman, himself, below is my attempted translation of Grossman's article published Friday in Yediot Ahronot, which can be found here in its original Hebrew. Window to a New Future. Whether we want to be the masses like this? How did we not shout when th...

Blog Zahav: When Hanin Met Danny
http://blogzahav.blogspot.com/2012/03/hanin-meets-danny.html
Can I have my Zionism back before you break it? Thursday, March 1, 2012. When Hanin Met Danny. Ami Kaufman of 972 posted a 10 minute clip. I commented at Ami's blog that I found the interview fascinating, but thought the title didn't convey its tenor. When I read "Israel has no right to live in security," I expect conflict. Enmity. Outrage. Though truth be told, what's left to be outraged about? You don't want to get to know your interviewee? So Danny asks Hanin how she felt when she was jeered by right ...

Can I have my Zionism back before you break it? Saturday, March 31, 2012. Keeping the Eye on the Prize. Telling a raucous opening night audience: “J Street, I’ve been waiting for you my entire adult life.”. The press coverage was equally impressive. Articles appeared throughout the conference in Haaretz. Notice of the conference was not limited to the Israeli and Jewish press. The New York Times. Make no mistake. This is what we face if we do not change the current dynamic. Every day that goes by...In th...

Blog Zahav: Sheikh Jarrah
http://blogzahav.blogspot.com/2011/04/sheikh-jarrah.html
Can I have my Zionism back before you break it? Friday, April 29, 2011. Just back from taking part in the Sheikh Jarrah demonstration. The problem is that it doesn't work both ways. Israeli law prohibits Palestinians, who were forced from their homes in what is now Israel proper, for example in Jaffa, from making the same claim as their Jewish counterparts. In other words, the law is discriminatory. When Sara walked away, the woman said, "That's my daughter.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). With apo...
