ADC in the News. About the Adult Day Connection. I don't know what I would do if it weren't for this place. MU Adult Day Connection (formerly Eldercare) participants are adults who benefit from therapeutic activities, exercise, nursing care and supervision. While participants enjoy socializing at an Adult Day Connection center, family caregivers are free to work, shop or enjoy some free time. Not long ago, our name was changed from Eldercare to reflect our mission to care for adults of all ages.

江戸時代末に開港した横浜神戸長崎函館などの港町には、明治時代になると中華街当時は南京町と呼ばれていたが誕生しました。明治43年、東京浅草に初めて日本人経営者尾崎貫一が横浜中華街から招いた中国人料理人12名を雇って日本人向けの中華料理店来々軒を開店し、大人気となりました。中国語の拉は、引っ張るという意味があり、拉麺はそばやうどんのように刃物で切り分けて細長い形にするのではなく、手で引っ張り伸ばして細長い麺の形を形成する手打ちの技法で作られます。この拉麺は麺生地を延ばし何層かに折りたたんで包丁で細い麺状に切る桿麺とともに日本のラーメンの原型となったのですが、日本では各地にラーメンが広まった時期と製麺機が登場普及した時期が近かったため、麺の手打ち職人が育つ間もなく製麺機での製麺が一般的になりました。 2つ目の説は、老麺ラオミェンを由来とする説です。一部の辞典はラーメンの項目に拉麺とともに老麺という漢字表記も採用しています。現在では名称はラーメンらーめんと表記されていることが多いです。
