Adventures in Africa: Recipe: Spicy Plantain Chips

http://adventuresinafricatravel.blogspot.com/2011/07/recipe-spicy-plantain-chips.html

Friday, July 29, 2011. Recipe: Spicy Plantain Chips. This recipe for plantain chips comes from Marcus Samuelson's. Discovery of a Continent. Plantains are a staple food throughout Africa and are used as a starch, similar to the way we use potatoes. These chips are a great snack food to serve prior to a meal to whet the appetite. Green plantains work best here, as they hold up better during cooking. Makes 2.5 cups. 1 tbsp curry powder. 1 tsp confectioners sugar. 2 sticks unsalted butter. 2 c canola oil.

Adventures in Africa: July - Botswana Game Report - Xigera Camp

http://adventuresinafricatravel.blogspot.com/2011/07/july-botswana-game-report-xigera-camp.html

Monday, July 25, 2011. July - Botswana Game Report - Xigera Camp. This July game and camp report comes to us from our friends at Wilderness Safaris and Xigera Camp. Hot water bottles, blankets and ponchos continue to be a great hit this winter, with temperatures dropping to as low as 7 C at night and during the mornings. The campfire has been the perfect venue for cosy gatherings in the chilly mornings and evenings, with hot chocolate and coffee being the order of the day. Ove the tents daily. The abunda...

Adventures in a First Grade Jungle

Monday, July 25, 2016. This morning I am linking up with Fourth Grade Frolics. For her amazing Monday Made It linky. I have come across so many fun ideas through this linky. I love working with vocabulary words and I really try to make sure that my kids know what words mean no matter what subject we are in. To go along with our new math curriculum I gave my math vocabulary packet a complete update so I can better utilize it and the math vocabulary with my kids. Have a happy Monday! Adventures in Central Asia

Adventures in Central Asia. Some of you have asked, and I wanted to share with you about the student retreat we had last weekend. So as I sit here, thinking, typing, and continuing to process the weekend, where do I even begin to write down the power and workings of the HS? How do I even begin to adequately illustrate how big, how powerful, how glorious and how precious God is? But of course that’s not the end of the story, so where do we go from here? The angels were singing praises to the King! Another...

How are they liking it? All in all I am very excited and happy with my new life. That is truly what it is a new life, completely selfless and totally wonderful.

Project Can Do- Officially Can Done! Some amazing volunteers and my dedicated coworkers turned 300,000 cans of food into a life-size canstruction of a new S Series combine. . The best part is that all of these cans are headed to a local food bank in a few weeks. This is just a temporary (if unusual! Stop for them along the way. . The outer layer of the combine is made of lots of green veggies (eww! I love the detail that went into it, including a GreenStar receiver and transport beacons. . I know from tw...

A bit about me. Adventures- and misadventures- of a easily-entertained web nerd working in Agriculture. May 13, 2013. Or at least a bloggy goodbye for now. As is probably very apparent by now, I haven’t been posting here much lately. Nothing bad, believe me! My job responsibilities have shifted, though, and I’m spending more time focused on internal projects that don’t make for good blog posts. July 7, 2012. I was geeking out.
