Alans Watercolour World

Wednesday, March 30, 2011. I decided to have a go at painting figures and found a book by a guy called Mel Stabin who 'for me' was easily identifiable as an American artist due to the style and colours he employs. This was a copy of one of his examples. Thursday, January 27, 2011. I quite liked this scene so I completed three versions of it. Thursday, January 6, 2011. It's been a while since I posted so I thought I would add this one I did of the Kings Arms at Blakeney where I visited in May 2010. Well i...

Alans Watercolour World: Pin Mill Monochrome

http://alanswatercolourworld.blogspot.com/2010/05/hi-there-i-have-just-returned-from.html

Tuesday, May 25, 2010. I have just returned from a painting holiday with a fellow artist who thought this ink monochrome sketch of mine drawn at Pin Mill Suffolk was quite good. I certainly think it was better than some other attempts at plein air painting I tried ;-). May 26, 2010 at 7:49 AM. Alan, it has the beauty of simplicity, well done. May 26, 2010 at 1:55 PM. June 15, 2010 at 6:35 AM. July 7, 2011 at 2:07 PM. Theres nothing to say, but. beautiful! October 8, 2013 at 2:35 AM.

John Salmon Watercolours: Carrs Lane Enfield. Watercolour.

http://watercolourclub.blogspot.com/2013/11/carrs-lane-enfield-watercolour.html

Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Carrs Lane Enfield. Watercolour. I seem to be doing two paintings each day. I'm sure that I could do three or four if I didn't have to spend so much time on Facebook, Google and getting side-tracked. I need to find an outlet for my artwork and I'm finding that marketing via social media has so many options that I could follow that it's quite overwhelming. However here is my second painting of the day. Nice and loose. Carrs Lane. Watercolour 9.75 x 5 inches. Im trying to keep t...

John Salmon Watercolours: Salmon's Brook after the Rain.

http://watercolourclub.blogspot.com/2013/11/salmons-brook-after-rain.html

Wednesday, November 06, 2013. Salmon's Brook after the Rain. I'm quite pleased with this painting it does seem to have some redeeming features which I think works well. I used fewer colours from my already reduced palette and just a single large squirrel mop and No 4 rigger. I've been painting for years but the struggle doesn't get any easier. I prefer to start and finish a painting in one session so it needs to be quite a speedy process. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

John Salmon Watercolours: Autumn Trees, Trent Park.

http://watercolourclub.blogspot.com/2013/11/autumn-trees-trent-park.html

Monday, November 25, 2013. Autumn Trees, Trent Park. And so the battle continues. I start out in a Pablo state of mind, go into an artistic stupour, and come round a couple of hours later to find a tight finished painting. The battle between the expressionists and realists is being fought in my head and at the moment, the realists appear to be on top. What do you think? Autumn Trees, Trent Park. Watercolour 9.75 x 5.5 inches. Wednesday, February 05, 2014 6:08:00 am. Monday, March 16, 2015 11:16:00 am.
