Arriving in Sitka early in the morning. What a beautiful harbor and setting. Charming just doesn't do it justice. This was by far our favorite port. This is the only port where we could not tie up to a dock. They lowered 4. Tenders (lifeboats) and they ferried us back and forth to the dock in the center of town. Showing in this photo are over 125 sea lions. There were lots more on the other. Side of this rock and the rock next to it too! The only Puffin that we saw - but glad we saw one at least. From a distance it was hard to tell what these guys were. There were about 30 in this group of sea otters. They sleep tangled up in. Kelp so that they won't drift too far away from the group. The captain shut down the engines on the small tour boat and we drifted. Right in next to them. Hard to get cuter than this!

Cruising the glaciers up to within 1/4 of a mile from the face of the. 250 years ago this was all glacier and no bay at all. A single massive river of.
