I sometimes confuse my opinion for fact. May 21, 2010. I gave up coffee (and caffeine) on Monday and it’s been a hard couple of days. I first got hooked, I think, by convincing myself of the importance of the benefits to my running. The idea that it holds off pain during runs and lets you go longer sticks with me. I don’t quite understand how this week’s mileage total went from 18 to 48 over the past 3 or 4 days, but I am happy that it is steadily increasing. After bugging him enough, Alex made good on his word and held another Saturday morning long run out of the store he works at up in Lexington – a branch of the Greater Boston Running Company. What’s great about the run – besides the change of venue – is that the store owner, Steve Meinelt. With a good crowd. Besides Caitlin and myself, there was Stephanie, Aleks (was that Aleks? Isn’t that her? What Comes Up (wt 29).
