Vegging out in North Devon (by Pete McClymont)
Update 14 March 2014 | Allotment 5½
https://allotment5andahalf.wordpress.com/2015/03/14/update-14-march-2014
Vegging out in North Devon. Update 14 March 2014. Sad news that we’ve experienced another round of thefts from sheds. Meanwhile, I’ve dug about one-third of the plot and started to warm up the earth in preparation for planting out onion sets. (And, garlic, once the bulbs arrive.). I’ve got potatoes ready to go, but I’m a bit concerned that frost is still a risk so will wait another couple of weeks before plating. This entry was posted on Saturday, March 14th, 2015 at 11:14 pm and is filed under Allotment.

Yorkshire Soul: TV Review - Sense 8 : 9*
http://yorkshiresoul.blogspot.com/2015/07/tv-review-sense-8-9.html
Friday, July 24, 2015. TV Review - Sense 8 : 9*. It isn't often that I rave over a TV series, GoT and Penny Dreadful aside, but the scope, depth and grandeur of Sense 8 had me hooked from the start. Sumptuously filmed with an above averagely good-looking cast, gorgeous locations and carefully used special effects, this is a big budget series which is seriously beautiful. Yorkshire Soul: Cutting For Ian
http://yorkshiresoul.blogspot.com/2014/01/cutting-for-ian.html
Saturday, January 25, 2014. There were unsettling scenes yesterday as thousands of fans of the disgraced singer Ian Bieber descended on the prison where the god awful little creep is incarcerated. Fans waved toddlers in the air and took to Twitter with hashtags like. In order to profess their misguided support for the foul actions of the rock singer. Locals were aid to be horrified at the crowd's reaction. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Monsters: Dark Continent 4*. Top 20 Tracks for 2013. The ShanMo...

Plot 28E: A gamble on a mild start
http://plot28e.blogspot.com/2012/01/gamble-on-mild-start.html
Wednesday, 18 January 2012. A gamble on a mild start. I have decided to get my raised bed going early with Garlic, Radishes, and beetroot. It is a bit of a risk but as long as I can protect the seeds/bulbs and cover if needed I think I can get some early crops. Will let you know of success or failure! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Allotment 45b
Thursday, 15 March 2012. Today we created our seed beds as planned, which will allow us to start off plants we will eventually move to the main beds. We have pretty much now planned out the space we will use this year and decided what vegetables we will grow. In fact, today also saw the first seeds go in which gave us a great sense of satisfaction after the hard work of digging and getting the plot ready over the last few weeks. Here's to sunshine and enough rain to keep the plants happy! We do still hav...

Allotment #65
A bit about me. Sunday, 17 May 2015. Such a busy weekend. Thought it was time to net the Honeoye Strawberries, only planted 2 months ago, but already got lots of fruit ripening. Won't be long before we can harvest these lovely sweet Strawberries. Weeded this patch where the 1st and 2nd early potatoes are, can't earth up the Rocket any more as they have grown bigger over the week, but now all the Charlotte are up I could earth those up. News from the pond:. I made new border edges to the path along most o...
Never Mind The Greens
My back is a wee bit better nowadays and the allotment is starting to look like it's not just weeds. Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.1. Peat pellets for the win. May not be the most environmental choice as they can't be recycled and they're made out of peat but so far they have never failed me. Also makes it easier for the kid to join in, sow and replant. She can even drop them to the floor and the net will keep the roots intact! To be found in your area. What's a Turkisk jätte? It grows incredibly fas...
Allotment 81
A south-facing plot on a sloping site in south-west Sheffield, with aspirations to become a vineyard. Monday, April 21, 2014. I've only got one section left to dig, and even that is more-or-less clear, at least on the surface. It just needs a bit of rain to soften it up now. I've got 8 bags of lovely well-rotted horse manure waiting at the top of the plot and I've just barrowed the contents of the compost heap halfway up the plot. Fertility a go-go, eh?
