Our Nomadic Family: May 2008
http://trainingupintheway.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 31, 2008. Moonlight on the Pier. Last night Cal and I went with 3 other couples down to Folley Beach to a Shaggin' event on the pier. Now, if you're like me before I moved to SC, you're wondering what on earth Shaggin' is (Austin Powers ruined that word for me). Shag is a dance that started in Charleston years ago and it's similar to the Jitterbug and to Swing dancing. You would have thought we were a bunch of caged parents who never get out and take a break from our toddlers. oh, wait.

Since today is my 31st birthday, I decided to do 31 random thoughts, quotes and verses that are important to me and have in some way shaped my life and how I try to live it. I know this is long but it is my birthday and the one day out of the year that I can get away with being on a soapbox. If you read to the end, kudos to you! Comments are always appreciated. 1 “He has shown you, O man, what is good;. And what does the Lord require of you.

Friday, August 24, 2007. They keep us grinning. The kids that is. They definitely keep us on our toes, but without a doubt, they give us a good laugh every single day. I say this often to friends who aren't sure if they want kids or who are getting ready to have a baby: "Parenting is the hardest job I've ever had but it is by far the most rewarding! Bry started 2 nd. On Wednesday, Bryant got off the bus and informed me,. The girl on the bus that was being a bully, she pinched my armpit! She does more tha...

Monday, July 30, 2007. Something to think on. I stumbled upon this quote and it spoke volumes to me, so I wanted to share it on our blog:. Tuesday, July 17, 2007. Fun Summer So Far. Our Michigan trip was a blast this year. The kids had such an amazing time playing with their cousins, swimming and taking very few baths over the course of 10 days. I think the kids will look back on that trip with some terrific memories. Once we got there, it was non-stop activity. Family get- togethers. We're having a grea...

Thursday, September 10, 2009. Big Update on Us. We had a very nice summer filled with swim lessons, swim team and even a trip to Michigan. Bry swam on the swim team and learned a lot about self discipline and improving his strokes. DJ learned to swim this summer and Elle only wants to be in the water if she has a firm grip on a trusted parent. We enjoyed the water so much in these 110 degree temps! Jaime and the kids recently spend several days at the Grand Canyon, visiting good friends and enjoying the ...

Our Nomadic Family: September 2008
http://trainingupintheway.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 26, 2008. It is hard to believe that it has been 2 years since that beautiful day in Flagstaff, Arizona when our family was completed with precious Elliotte Cathryn. It has gone fast, yet we've done more things than I ever thought possible in two years. How could life have ever been without our Elle-girl? Could we have ever imagined how wonderfully sweet and delightfully charming she would be? Thursday, September 25, 2008. BIG Sigh.) I love this time of year! Sunday, September 14, 2008.

Monday, July 28, 2008. Guess where I'm going. I won a free ticket to Heart of the Matter's Homeschool Virtual Conference, which starts this Thursday. Although this will be our 6th year homeschooling, I have never been to a conference, either in person or online. I'm looking forward to some fresh ideas! I won't be posting this week as I'm getting some housework done, both literally and figuratively, but I'll be back after the conference with some ideas to share and maybe a surprise or two. After I tucked ...
