The Anderson Family Hootenanny!: December 2010

http://andersonfamilyhootenanny.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

The Anderson Family Hootenanny! Sunday, December 12, 2010. A little while ago, I was talking to my family about taco soup recipes, and they were interested in my recipe. It's all just opening up cans and browning hamburger, so it's really fast and easy. So, for any of you who might be interested, here's the recipe:. 1 can pinto beans. 1 can black beans. 1 can mexican-style tomatoes. 1 lb ground beef, browned (I sometimes use just a 1/2 pound). 1 packet dry taco seasoning. 1 packet dry ranch dressing mix.

The Anderson Family Hootenanny! Wednesday, April 27, 2011. We did this for breakfast Easter Sunday, they were so yummy and a great little lesson as well. I just copied the original post. Here but got the idea from Jill. I think they are going to become a new tradition for our family. Here is what you need. Frozen dough for dinner rolls - found in the freezer section of your grocer. Marshmallows - regular size. Sugar and Cinnamon Mixture - I recommend about a 4:1 ratio. (4 being the sugar.mmmmm). 4 Sprink...

Mauri's Musings: February 2012

http://nymauri.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 05, 2012. However, the one thing that has struck me so far is how quick these little kids are to love and how eager they are to please. This was only my 3rd Sunday, and already many of them want to sit by me or tell me all about what they did during the past week. It melts my heart every time. I think I need to keep that in mind when the next meltdown happens. Stay tuned for more stories, as they are sure to come in the upcoming weeks. Sunday, February 05, 2012. Mauri's Musings: November 2011

http://nymauri.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 13, 2011. At this time, after a rather long absence, I feel the need to explain why I sometimes disappear from the blogosphere. In addition to starting a new job and moving to a new place, which has kept me busy the past few weeks, this is what usually leads me to go quiet:. 1 I try to avoid unfiltered drivel. 2 I try to present fully formed thoughts. 3 This is not a journal. 4 Too many words. Mauri's Musings: In Response to Another's Opinion

http://nymauri.blogspot.com/2012/01/in-response-to-anothers-opinion.html

Sunday, January 29, 2012. In Response to Another's Opinion. Recently, I have read a couple of articles from those who say they have been raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But have for one reason or another decided to no longer practice their faith. One of these articles. To be correct, and I lead my life accordingly. I grew up in a family that encouraged curiosity and valued education. I always felt like the Church has encouraged its members to search and find answers to thei...

Mauri's Musings: Why Animals Don't Like Me

http://nymauri.blogspot.com/2012/05/why-animals-dont-like-me.html

Sunday, May 20, 2012. Why Animals Don't Like Me. Erik Christensen, Porkeri. After pondering why this should be, I came to realize it isn't necessarily that I don't like them. In fact, it isn't my fault at all; it's that they. I've had many unpleasant experiences that have led me to this conclusion. I believe my ambivalence started when I was the tender age of two or three, and our dog Caramel (Karmel? Sunday, May 20, 2012. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Why Animals Dont Like Me.

Monday, November 29, 2010. I love a good gift guide this time of year. There's nothing to get you in the holiday spirit like a list of completely useless items. So, here you have 2010's gift guide, with something for everyone on your list:. For the dyslexic on your list (to realize they're not the only ones who misspell words): The Great Typo Hunt. For the vegetarian on your list (to keep an open mind): My First Bacon. For the opera lover (to feel a part of the next performance): the Viking hat.

Mauri's Musings: February 2011

http://nymauri.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 28, 2011. As the saying goes, every virtue has its vice, and this uncanny ability to concentrate results in humorous situations sometimes. One of those happened today. I was in Provo at the HBLL. Doing some research for a professor when I received this text from my brother. Who is also a student at BYU. Hey, how's Provo? My confused response to him was this:. How do you know I'm here? Sitting right next to you. Well, at least I got a lot done, right? Monday, February 28, 2011. Was introd...

Mauri's Musings: Domestic Fail

http://nymauri.blogspot.com/2011/08/domestic-fail.html

Thursday, August 25, 2011. Image: Master isolated images / FreeDigitalPhotos.net. When I was 8 or 9 years old, I was in a little cooking 4H club. The culmination of our little club was entering a baked good into the county fair. I made lemon bars from the old Lion House cookbook. Fast forward to today: I'm in a book club that's meeting tonight. We're discussing Stargirl. Which I've loved since the first time I read it). One of the most vivid memories from that book is the description of Stargirl's ye...
