Andy ’s SoapBox. Stars and Stripes For a Little While. June 14, 2007. Posted by Andy in andy roth. This holiday is elegant in its simplicity. The mail still comes, nothing is closed, you don’t have to buy gifts, prepare elaborate meals, host fancy parties, sing any particular songs, or even send anyone a card. All that is expected of you is to display the flag as a sign of your patriotism and love for the US of A. Oh, say, does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave? Sorry Francis, it does not. I converted t...

2013: Haiti Mission Trip
http://travelingroths.blogspot.com/2013/09/i-i-decided-to-take-mission-trip-to.html
Thursday, September 26, 2013. 2013: Haiti Mission Trip. DAY ONE- 19 June. I woke up around 4:05 am for a 7:05 flight to Miami. The connecting flight to Port-au-Prince was 50 minutes after touchdown, and then a six hour bus ride to the town of St. Louis du Nord. I decided to go to Haiti because I needed to some gain some perspective on my life. Landed safely and got slightly accosted by porters in the airport. Luggage arrived, and I hired a porter for $2 with a $1 tip to get all items to the bus. Still in...

Thursday, March 04, 2010. London Day 2: We Can Be Happy Underground. Woke up at 7:15 after sleeping like a rock all night. Checked out from the London Marriott Hotel Kensington. I emerged in London rain, pouring rain and 4 degrees C. From there we walked to the Knightsbridge train station, but it was closed, so we walked to the Hyde Park Corner station, and took the Picadilly Line train (via another 1-day unlimited zone 1-2 pass) to the Picadilly Circus, which is strikingly similar to Times Square, but o...

Monday, August 31, 2009. My Photography Bucket List. So I got out a pen and some paper, and started brainstorming all the things I'd like to photograph in my lifetime. Here's what I came up with, grouped into a few categories. Eiffel Tower (again, now that I know what I'm doing, somewhat). Great Wall of China. Acropolis/Parthenon (again, see Eiffel Tower). Matterhorn (again, it was cloudy the only time I've been to Zermatt). Blue Band, in Beaver Stadium, at field level. What's on your bucket list?

December 2014
http://travelingroths.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 22, 2014. It's time for our now only blog post for the year; the one where we explain the pictures on the Christmas card, and maybe add a few others that we didn't have room for. This is our 2014 Year in Review. We ended 2013 with our bi-annual Christmas trip to Pennsylvania, and like every trip, we took our obligatory kids-on-the-steps pic at the Roth house in Harmonyville. Someday we'll make a book of just these pictures, as there are many. But finally, spring time. And Zoe "graduated"...

Tuesday, July 27, 2010. The Great Northern Adventure, Day 7: Gold. Friday, July 9, 2010. We walked to "downtown" Fairbanks, finding a coffee place called Mocha Dan's where we got some breakfast sammiches and coffee, avoiding hotel restaurants and their $14/person sorry buffets. A relatively short ride on the bus to a riverboat ride on the paddlewheeler "Discovery III.". This took about three hours, including a one hour stop at a mock native village culture display. The "native" chicks were very cute,.
