In spite of predictions of it being nice and in the 60’s, I actually woke up to it being foggy and in the 30’s. Needless to say the 10:30 flight was scrubbed. Bob suggested we wait and see what things looked like by 1pm, but things were still not cleared up in Okmulgee or McAlester. So no flying today. My experiences in getting a private pilot certificate. 7 June 2008-Flight Cancelled. June 7, 2008. Flying canceled for today. Winds at 20knots and gusting up to 30 out of the south. Bob said he only got to fly one day out of the last week. Looking at the weather forecast for the next week, it is not going to be much better. A lesson has been scheduled for tomorrow at 10 am, but it looks like it could be a similar situation. 1 June 2008- Flight Cancelled. June 1, 2008. 31 May 2008- Flight 46. May 31, 2008.

The oral part of the exam lasted about two and a half hours. A lot of it was the DE just telling us about himself, his flying experience and trying to impart what bits of wisdom he could to a couple of newbie pilots. My experiences in getting a private pilot certificate. Archive for December, 2007. 30 December 2007 – Flight 24. December 30, 2007. Today was another cold, but nice day to fly. Winds were about 7 knots out of the southwest. Once down, there was no messing around discussing the landing. Carb heat in, flaps up, throttle in and back into the air. And noticing the trees ahead of me if I did not gain altitude. Bob is going to be out of town next weekend, so the next lesson is scheduled for. December 29, 2007.

Today we focused on stall practice and short and soft field takeoffs and landings. We started off with slow flight. Ted had me reduce rpms to 2000 and then keep pulling back on the yoke until we had slowed to 45 knots.
