全球晶片設計及電子系統軟體暨IP領導廠商新思科技(Synopsys)近日公佈，今年度新思科技APPs設計競賽(Synopsys APPs Design Contest)結果，由國立台灣大學電機研究所開發的程式，透過與Verdi整合並將錯誤的電路行為標示在設計模擬(Simulation)的結果上，使工程師可以更有效率的進行驗證工作，獲評審委員一致青睞，拔得頭籌，贏得特優獎的殊榮。 為激發年輕學子對設計軟體開發的興趣，培育半導體設計軟體人才，新思科技持續與教育部主辦的 大學校院積體電路電腦輔助設計軟體製作競賽 (ICCAD Contest)合作，舉辦 新思科技APPs設計競賽(Synopsys APPs設計競賽) ，以鼓勵學生結合理論與實務，加強產學界之間的交流。 台灣新思科技董事長葉瑞斌表示 半導體產業設計軟體人才難尋，在國內是存在已久的現象，也凸顯培育設計人才的重要性與急迫性; 新思科技一向支持教育部ICCAD競賽，並持續投入資源舉辦新思科技APPs設計競賽，除了加強產學界之間的交流外，也希望能透過這項活動，鼓勵在校學生結合理論與實務，投入EDA領域研究與創新，進而達到培育設計軟體人才的目標。
