Mystic Journey: April 2009
http://fmsailors.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
The record of Griff and Cheryl's adventures on Mystic Journey. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Med which of coarse does not allow non-guests onto its premises. At the other end of the village is a series of beaches that are connected by a hiking trail. We walked along part of the trail passing a 'water park' one of the hotels has in place. It consisted of trampolines, slides and water volleyball court. It was easy to picture the grandkids having fun there. Tuesday, April 21, 2009. It is not. Cheryl and I t...

Mystic Journey: December 2008
http://fmsailors.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
The record of Griff and Cheryl's adventures on Mystic Journey. Monday, December 29, 2008. A Video of Rob at the Wheel. We got past Willemstad after being kept out farther than we wanted to be by a tanker that was in the way. Although we eventually established that it was stationary, it was difficult to tell that until we got quite close and the last thing you ever want to do is to cross the bow of a tanker or cargo ship. Their speed is deceptive and they don't have very good brakes! On Sunday the A/C was...

Mystic Journey: July 2009
http://fmsailors.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
The record of Griff and Cheryl's adventures on Mystic Journey. Sunday, July 19, 2009. Well, we are still at the same anchorage as the last time we blogged. A little bit of lazy and a lot of liking the anchorage, even though we did have to put out a stern anchor to counteract the roll one night. The anchorage is close to St George's, to Grand Anse (the really. Anyway, the other fort is the story. It was actually kind of neat to guess what each of the buildings and rooms were intended for. Maurice and ...

Mystic Journey: December 2009
http://fmsailors.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
The record of Griff and Cheryl's adventures on Mystic Journey. Tuesday, December 29, 2009. December 28, 2009. For me this marvelous sailing adventure is fast drawing to a close. It's hard to believe that in four days I will be back in the land of ice and snow. I just hope the weather gods will be kind and there won't be too much of the white stuff and the cold temperatures when I first arrive. December 30, 2009. The sail to Fat Hog Bay was great! Thursday, December 24, 2009. Well, here we are with anothe...

The record of Griff and Cheryl's adventures on Mystic Journey. Thursday, August 20, 2009. August 20, 2009 1100. We have had an enjoyable week in Toronto visiting with Rob, Jennifer and the Perry's and of course Tim Horton's. We had the opportunity to watch the Perry grandkids at their sailing school. Alex looks very natural at the helm. We watched him accidently "turn turtle" that is the sailboat turned upside. Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Carnival Grenada - and then to Canada. An aside - another thing abou...

We are a homeschooling family of 7. Follow our blog to get a glimpse inside our crazy life. Wednesday, February 16, 2011. Today I learned about global climate change. The earth is heating up because human activity is increasing the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases come from using coal and oil. Polar ice shelves are breaking into small pieces. Polar bears are drowning because the ice is melting away. Hey Sarah - you are doing some very interesting blogs - I am learning lots from you. Hello, Well, I gue...

School of Sparks: The Panama Canal
http://school-of-sparks.blogspot.com/2011/03/panama-canal.html
We are a homeschooling family of 7. Follow our blog to get a glimpse inside our crazy life. Tuesday, March 1, 2011. In 1539 the first plans for the Panama Canal were drawn by King Charles V of Spain, but the project only became practical more then 300 years later with the construction of the Panama railroad. The railroad was used to transport goods from vessels on the Pacific and Atlantic coasts, and became helpful in choosing Panama as the site for a water transit route. In 1904 the project was taken ov...

Mystic Journey: May 2009
http://fmsailors.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
The record of Griff and Cheryl's adventures on Mystic Journey. Sunday, May 31, 2009. Union Island - Last of the Grenadines. There are two towns here, with Clifton being the main town and Ashton just down the coast. They were actually going to build a huge marina/resort complex at Ashton that would join. Fort Hill as seen from Mystic Journey. We climbed to the little gazebo you can barely see on top! There is a good view from the top of the hill and while up there we could see not only the whole of Union ...

School of Sparks: February 2010
http://school-of-sparks.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
We are a homeschooling family of 7. Follow our blog to get a glimpse inside our crazy life. Friday, February 26, 2010. Uncle Jason lives in our basement. He's an expert at video games and he takes us to Dairy Queen. He plays his banjo and he's good at it. He pretends to tickle us in his mind. I like him living at our house. But the worst part about having Jason here is I have to wait until 4 o'clock to play video games with him. It turned out really good. Joe really likes it and wears it all the time.
