Lost But Loving It...In Alaska!: Spirit Houses
http://lostbutlovingit.blogspot.com/2016/10/spirit-houses.html
Lost But Loving It.In Alaska! Hanging out on the Last Frontier. Saturday, October 29, 2016. I headed back towards town and thought I would pull off the road and scout for a spot to take pictures tomorrow. I often drive by the village of Eklutna. I stopped there once and saw some a church with some miniature houses. I was later told they were built for deceased elders. So today I thought I would stop and check it out. Those with fences," he told me, "are people who wanted to be buried here but are not fro...

Lost But Loving It...In Alaska!: September 2016
http://lostbutlovingit.blogspot.com/2016_09_01_archive.html
Lost But Loving It.In Alaska! Hanging out on the Last Frontier. Thursday, September 29, 2016. I snapped a Panoramic of Anchorage sitting in the foreground of the Chugach range in mid March. I was sure spring had sprung on that day. But, it turns out I was wrong, and this is how much snow can fall in a couple of hours in my part of the world. Me and the cat felt the same way about this. The southern faces slopes lose their snow much faster than the northern facing slopes. Labels: Eagle River Nature Center.

Lost But Loving It...In Alaska!: May 2016

Lost But Loving It.In Alaska! Hanging out on the Last Frontier. Monday, May 30, 2016. I am not feeling very wordy these days, but there are many pictures to describe the things I lack to energy to say, so, here are some more bears from last summer. Bears are not the only ones who know when feeding time is. The birds arrive early too. It turns out bears are not the tidiest of eaters, and there are generally lots of bite size tidbits strewn about for birds. And if you randomly get an itch.scratch it. The r...

Lost But Loving It.In Alaska! Hanging out on the Last Frontier. Monday, March 28, 2016. I cannot focus all of the things I wish and wonder, I will need so many letters to heaven over the years. It seems like so long since we have talked. How are you doing in your new place? I wonder if you have birds, and bunnies, and horses, and cats since you always loved them so. Can you see the Saskatchewan sunsets and the waves of wheat moving in the slow summer winds from your place? What about those cats of mine?

Lost But Loving It...In Alaska!: July 2016
http://lostbutlovingit.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html
Lost But Loving It.In Alaska! Hanging out on the Last Frontier. Sunday, July 24, 2016. The muskoxen were clashing heads, literally! They would lock horns, twist and turn, and then like cowboys in the old west, retreat a few paces and ready for the next clash! Just wandering around before a nap. A reaaaaaaaally long nap. After a few minutes. he decided to wander off and curl up for a short nap. He wasn't headed to a den.just a short snowy slumber. Something about the fall colors just made me fall in love ...

Lost But Loving It...In Alaska!: February 2016
http://lostbutlovingit.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html
Lost But Loving It.In Alaska! Hanging out on the Last Frontier. Sunday, February 28, 2016. It's not just Otters and Orcas in the seas of Prince William Sound. There are patches of seals sunning themselves on the ice flows as well. This little dude has smugly claimed the best spot on the flow. It's not easy to jockey for position when your primary source of movement out of water is similar to an inchworm. That silly seal smile is well earned. Who knows what things seals may dream of? As peaceful as this l...

Lost But Loving It.In Alaska! Hanging out on the Last Frontier. Sunday, August 21, 2016. A fit pairing for this weekend is a book called "The Little Paris Bookshop," an excellent read. At present the main character is taking forever to recuperate from a period of mourning long delayed. He is learning what the mind, body, and soul need to heal. 'The hurting period' of the bereaved. It isn't yet clear what lies beyond yet. Labels: The Little Paris Bookshop. Monday, August 1, 2016. The Bear and the Raven.

Lost But Loving It...In Alaska!: A little New York by Day

Lost But Loving It.In Alaska! Hanging out on the Last Frontier. Saturday, December 10, 2016. A little New York by Day. December in New York, and not a snowflake in sight. In fact, it was T-shirt and light jacket weather. The stores were ready for Christmas though, even if the weather wasn't. Saks on 5th Avenue unveiled its holiday decorum.and when darkness falls, the light show is bound to be spectacular. The views at the time were very different. Carnegie Steel would help change the face of New York...
