A scrappy life!

Wednesday, February 02, 2011. So, what can I say! It has been three years since my last post! So I'm guessing that this blog has gathered some dust! I thought it was time to come out of blogging retirement. Unfortunately, crafty endeavours are still limited as my lovely stash is stashed away since the birth of my twins back in January 2008. The little rascals have just turned three and really acting the part! So I am now living in Morocco! I'm teaching English at the very pretty Al Akhawayn University!

http://ascrappylife.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 27, 2006. So this week sees the launch of dare 2 from the daring cardmakers. This weeks dare was ALL. Janes fault.now when she said dare she really meant it! The challenge was to make a card on any theme (so far so good).using stuff from the kitchen (thud.yes it took a while to pick our jaws up from the floor) But after some recovery time the team came up trumps and produced some cracking cards using the most inventive stuff from plastic milk bottles to tooth picks! For card 3 I started w...

Monday, October 15, 2007. I don't quite remember when I started calling my Dad, Pa. It was in my teens at some point. It was a bit of a standing joke as Pa means foot in Farsi. Anyways My dad has three girls and loves it. He says that girls take care of their dads and cook them dinner. Well I tell you our Dad takes wonderful care of us even though we are all now married. Well my dad really out did himself this week. He has only gone and got me one of these:. I can't tell you how excited I am! I'm Saffa, ...

Fluffy Stuff: Today

http://kelsfluffystuff.blogspot.com/2007/05/today.html

Tuesday, May 08, 2007. Was the day my babies became outdoor buns. Eeek! I so hope I've done the right thing. We've bought them a mahoosive hutch and run combo so they've got lots of space, but what a crap week to move them out! What's with the weather? We've had a clean of the kitchen and I swear there was enough bun fluff behind the radiator to make another rabbit - gross! No matter how much you think you've cleaned, that stuff just seems to get everywhere and that's not good when you've got a baby, eh?

Fluffy Stuff: U Can't Touch This

http://kelsfluffystuff.blogspot.com/2007/05/u-cant-touch-this.html

Sunday, May 27, 2007. U Can't Touch This. So this is me last week, at 22 weeks pregnant - eeeek! Please note, I do not normally wear leggings with vest tops, (in fact, I've only just purchased some leggings to wear under tunic-type tops after much wrestling with my conscience, as I distinctly remember thinking I would never,. Wear leggings again after the 80s.) but I put the top on to show off the bump. I'm rather fond of my new shape, as I look. Ooh, look at that lovely bump! Now I've just about sorted ...

East meets West: September 2006

http://www.blog.rifaat.org/2006_09_01_archive.html

Be in this world as a traveller . . .'. Saturday, September 23, 2006. A day's exploring was not enough, and I could easily have spent weeks travelling the island contemplating its mysterious beauty. It was a deeply refreshing experience to feel so far away from Europe's big polluted cities and so close to nature, albeit a side of nature that I have never experienced before. In places the red earth made it feel like I was on Mars! Posted by Omar at 9:33 pm. Links to this post. Sunday, September 17, 2006.

Be in this world as a traveller . . .'. Friday, May 05, 2006. Born of earth, yet yearning for heaven. Aspiration far stronger than delicate stems. Petals mirroring the sun they seek. Clouds deter not their simple hopes. Short stems could never touch the skies. Yet their pure intentions pierce the highest veil. Posted by Omar at 11:39 pm. Links to this post. Be in this world as a traveller . . .'. Sunday, March 26, 2006. Mallorca: The Cupola (Rollei view). The Cupola also looks great through the Rollei! The Cupola is a place that I return to every time I go to Mallorca. Its on the western edge near Valdemossa. It has a mythical feeling to it with the mountains plunging into the sea below and covered with mediterranean scrub clinging to the rock as if to avoid being hurled into the sea. Be in this world as a traveller . . .'. Wednesday, January 25, 2006. My new Holga arrived last week and just received the first roll of film back from the lab. I chose Ilford Delta 400. Be in this world as a traveller . . .'. Thursday, March 15, 2007. Shop window in Paris. Posted by Omar at 11:20 pm. Links to this post. When I have time I like to take pictures. I like B&W film and old cameras. Mostly I use my 1939 Rolleiflex and my 80's Nikon FM2n, sometimes a Holga and others too. The more experience I get, the more I like to return to basics - simple cameras, B&W, Ilford film, hand printing. Photography for me is a way to see beyond the surface. View my complete profile.

A Scrappy Heart

Sunday, February 6, 2011. So Wednesday night we had quite the "blustery" weather - snow, wind and cold. Thursday morning we woke up to . . . no power. What an awful way to wake up! Since I was the first to report the outage in our area, and I had no idea how much of the city was in the same boat as us, I called in a supply and stayed home. Fortunately, we had the power back on before lunch - and before we all turned into popsicles! Tanner spent the majority of the day outside creating this:. Hmmm, I wond...
