Her misshapen head, one eye swollen shut bruised, her other eye staying open, her tummy sunk in, not breathing.horrible, horrible, horrible memories. It is never ending. Life as it happens. Sunday, September 28, 2014. Looking back I can see just how broken I was, how out of my body I was, and feeling a little bit more compassion for that 24 year old Ashley. Would they judge me? Would they run from my pain? Would they be able to handle my story? I am forever thankful for those who have sat with me in those darkest days and never really left me. Life as it happens. Friday, May 9, 2014. Mothers day has been a tough holiday for many years. Even before I lost my daughter and my mom it was always hard. In the time since my mothers death I have discovered the pain, the heartache, the hurt, the loneliness, and the sadness that she carried with her. The beautiful person and human being she was, and what I would give to have her back. I hate that death made me see my mom, truly see her and that I will never get the chance to make things right.

He only did it a few times, so I decided to keep the crib intact until he started climbing out more. Well, he was climbing back into the crib and got his knee stuck in the crib slats. Our Family of Five. Sunday, October 30, 2011. We went to the pumpkin patch with our good friends The Richardson's last weekend. The kids had fun running around, playing in the bouncy house and playing in a little house full of corn. We always love hanging out with The Richardson's! They have two sweet girls. Our Family of Five. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Emma had her preschool graduation today. I can't believe that she will be starting Kindergarten in the Fall. How did this happen? She loves her teacher, Miss Linda, and all of the friends that she has made. I got her a little bouquet of flowers to make her feel extra special and grown-up. The only bummer about today was that Shaun had to work out of town and couldn't make it. :( But, Grandma Michelle and Aunt Kayla were able to come. Singing the silly song.

Our Family of Five. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Riley had his very 1st haircut at 4 months old at Cool Cuts for Kids. After that I decided that I would just cut his hair myself. Haircuts are so expensive and with boys they need one at least once a month, sometimes twice. I have given him many, many, many haircuts! We decided that it was time to take him back to a pro and get him a big boy haircut. He did so good! Can you please be still so that I can change your diaper? He said, "Yeah! How awesome is that?

Our Family of Five. Sunday, March 25, 2012. Shaun is Irish. So, every year his Aunt Sherri has a big St. Patrick's Day get-together at her house. Corned beef and cabbage, red potatoes, carrots and cornbread. Yummy! The kids love it over there! She has an acre with lots of stuff for the kids to do. Emma rode a cute tricycle the entire time we were there. When we got home, she was complaining that her legs hurt. Of course they did! She just rode a bike for at least 4 hours!
