AST was developed with the GaoKao in mind. The GaoKao is one of the most rigorous academic tests available* and is taken by some of the most elite students in the world. Because the AST is specifically designed for Chinese students, on a platform closest to their normal expectations for performance they can culturally understand, therefore it offers a rare look at the true ability of these focused students. Difficulty level is higher than that of A-level or AP exams.

1 When is the deadline of registration? May I register after the deadline? The annual deadline of regular registration for AST exam is May 31st. A 200 RMB fee will be charged for late registration which runs June 1 through June 30. 2 How do I choose a testing subject? AST has 3 subjects: English, Mathematics, and Physics. Students may choose the subject according to the universities’ requirement. 3 How do I choose a testing site? 4 May I apply to change the site? 5 If necessary, how do I cancel?
