Technical Duckery: October 2006
http://johnwburris.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Test 2: Computer Architecture. I don't have much time to post, but today's test went well. It was very hard, but straightforward. I can stand hard, just not leftfield hard. Everyone took the full 3 hours to finish the test, but we all felt good about how we did. Work decided to go retarded on me this week. As soon as I finished the test, I had to do work until past 6:00 despite the fact that tomorrow's test could be the hardest of the 5: Algorithms. I'll let you guys know.

Tuesday, June 27, 2006. We have officially relocated. I plan on using this site for my new blog. I'm tired of having to worry about comment spam. I'm tired of making you say that "Im a pretty girl". I'm tired of paying to have a blog. I'm tired of being worried about wether I have used up my site bandwidth. I know I will be loosing my archives, but I actually think this is the right decision. I will try to figure out how to import my existing posts. Posted by John W. Burris at 1:48 PM. Links to this post.

Friday, May 25, 2007. Minneapolis - ICSE 2007. I am breaking my blog silence to tell everyone about my current trip to a conference in Minneapolis. Minneapolis is a great town this time of year. The weather is wonderful. The shops, restaurants and people are best described as amiable. Minneapolis really is a beautiful city. Just look at the view from my hotel room. The weather was wonderful:. This is a photo of my fellow SELab researcher and friend Jason (Zhixiang Shen) and I waiting for today's keynote ...

Wednesday, September 27, 2006. A New Type of Experiment. My good friend Ping Zhang came home from China wih a new bride and a present for Natasha and I. It was a Shibajie Mahua manufactured by Guifaxiang in Ping's home town outside of Shanghai. It comes in four flavors as shown below:. Purple is traditional, Blue is Chinese Pepper, Yellow is Hard Nut, and Red is Haw. Yes. I said Haw. That is the only time I have seen that word used without being preceded by the words Hee or Yee. Monday, July 31, 2006. I went to Choctaw Landfill on Saturday in my Dad's truck to dispose of a wall that I replaced on the outside of the house. I usuallly love going to the dump. It barely smells and is in constant motion. In fact, I brought Alexandra with me to see it. She was fascinated. That's when it happened. We drove up to the actual dump location and an old fella told us to back it on in. The whole time we were backing a machine that is almost exactly like this one:. The heat you say? Luckily he...

Wednesday, September 05, 2007. For those of you who don't keep up with dates, today is September 5th. Traditionally, it is the day that Apple gives the consumers who love them more things to spend their money on. One newsworthy mention is the the iPhone has been reduced to $399. That's actually pretty reasonable. Must have sucked o be one of the first to jump at it now. $200 to have the phone for 2 months. Posted by John W. Burris at 12:10 PM. Links to this post. John W.
