Bright side of the Moon | Jivesucka's Ruminations
https://jivesuckablogs.wordpress.com/2015/02/04/bright-side-of-the-moon
A detective of perspective. Bright side of the Moon. I was putting the washing on the line at midnight, an unusual move at this hour, or any other hour for me. I didn’t need the light on, because this gigantic sucker, orbiting the earth at around the same speed as a rifle’s bullet, was doing a more than adequate job of illuminating my damp clothing. It’s taken a few hits over the years, but it’s still moving along. Also, it’s the 2nd-greatest outdoor lamp ever. Full Moon 4th Feb 2015. Top Posts and Pages.

The Day I Met Chester. | SCHOOME
https://schoome.wordpress.com/2014/08/30/the-day-i-met-chester
Learning should be fun. The Day I Met Chester. August 30, 2014. He was proud of his ancestry, or at least his owners were. It seems that he was in a direct line from Pavlov’s dog, the famous one who used to drool all over the place whenever the professor would sound his bell. But I can see how easily you could make that mistake. Popular wisdom has it that the dog used in the experiment was just a mutt, but nothing could be further from the truth. My friends and I had had enough. It was going to be risky.

Rufus, a Blackbird, a Sock and a Cockatoo. | SCHOOME
https://schoome.wordpress.com/2014/09/04/rufus-a-blackbird-a-sock-and-a-cockatoo
Learning should be fun. Rufus, a Blackbird, a Sock and a Cockatoo. September 4, 2014. Having a Blackbird for a friend is a little unusual. I’m not ashamed, and when you know how it came about I think you will understand. Her partner disappeared in the middle of last spring, and she was left to bring up her two chicks all by herself; not an easy task. She managed it very well, and they flew off into the world happy and healthy and a little bit wise. Not too much, though; you know how young ones are. I don...

Dead Kennel Investigation | Jivesucka's Ruminations
https://jivesuckablogs.wordpress.com/2014/10/19/dead-kennel-investigation
A detective of perspective. The temporary storage of a damaged kennel on the front lawn, collected from hard rubbish and soon to be revitalised as a rabbit’s summer house, piqued the interest of Nanook and Valentino. Four photos tell the story. Send in the Dog Squad. Was this our subtle way of turning them into “outside dogs”? Unimpressed with the accommodations. Valé lived that life before we adopted him, so initially he was mildly concerned. But there was no cause for alarm. It was filed under Dogs.

A detective of perspective. Victorian Hot Rod Show Photos – 24th Jan 2015. The Victorian Hot Rod Show at the exhibition buildings was full of chrome and general fun times. Since we were indoors and most cars were dust-free, I used my Olympus OM-D E-M1 and 60mm f/2.8 Macro lens for the day, mostly capturing the small stuff. 61 photos tell the story. My thanks to Nikky and the rest of our odd little crew for giving me a fun reason to go into the city and stand really close to interesting cars. Nikky is kee...

jivesucka52 | Jivesucka's Ruminations

A detective of perspective. On my walk home from work one day, I stumbled upon a disarmed and disheveled mannequin, leaning against a fence in an empty store’s rear entrance. Some underground plumbing work in the yard was half-finished, making it look like she’d sprung right out of the ground, or landed with a mighty impact. 8 photos tell the story…. I’d never seen such an expressive mannequin before, or maybe I’d just never looked closely enough. Her elegance and pride lingers. Keep your camera handy.
