JnS Miniature Moments: February 2013
http://jnsminiaturemoments.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
An ongoing effort as a Scale Artist, with an emphasis on figures. Friday, February 22, 2013. Charlotte de Berry" - Lady Pirate. This is my interpretation of Pegaso figure "Charlotte de Berry". This is a WIP shot, I've more to do on this so far. I've decided to remove the nose ring, go for a more tanned look, less make up, and change the feathers over. Then I retouched the skin tones. Filled the gaps between the hair and the back of the shirt. and blocked in the hair. Sunday, February 17, 2013. It is a be...

JnS Miniature Moments: Chinese Lady (revisited) complete
http://jnsminiaturemoments.blogspot.com/2013/07/chinese-lady-revisited-complete.html
An ongoing effort as a Scale Artist, with an emphasis on figures. Sunday, July 21, 2013. Chinese Lady (revisited) complete. I am declaring the Chinese Lady complete. I don't feel I can take her any further, I have progressed in techniques attempted and learned. By switching to a better type of airbrush, and using Andrea rather than Vallejo, (purely for colour reasons, both behave pretty much the same) I achieved a smoother, more realistic style of skin tone. Portrait shot of Chinese Lady. Subscribe to: P...

JnS Miniature Moments: April 2012
http://jnsminiaturemoments.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
An ongoing effort as a Scale Artist, with an emphasis on figures. Thursday, April 5, 2012. Good friends in Osaka! Back in November 2010, I went to Osaka, caught up a with a friend of many years, and made a few more. Today, Yoko, knowing that I have had to reschedule my trip because of the house move, posted a picture of "Sakura" (Cherry Blossoms) on my facebook page. Nowhere near as good as the real thing, I do appreciate the thought and effort behind that simple act. Cheers to Osaka from Australia!

JnS Miniature Moments: June 2012
http://jnsminiaturemoments.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
An ongoing effort as a Scale Artist, with an emphasis on figures. Monday, June 25, 2012. Lets see, back in April, I had to move home. So that disrupts both home life, work life, and time with loved ones. So in the end, time at the hobby bench didn't get the time I would have preferred. I did get some time in, for a few projects, trying to rescue them from the tomb of the half done figure. The Happy Monk, by Ernst Veingardt (spelling? A 54mm tall figure. So a bit happier with some progress. I've yet to pi...

JnS Miniature Moments: April 2013

An ongoing effort as a Scale Artist, with an emphasis on figures. Thursday, April 25, 2013. Always good to explore others styles and approaches. Learn from others - time is too precious to try and continuously reinvent the wheel". After a figure modeler tries to bring life to a figures face, the next challenge is clothing. True, a sculptor may have done a great job of a heavy canvas jacket with thick folds, and a silk scarf with very fine folds and wrinkles. A limited paint job won't add to the figure.

Here's Liz, posing for the camera. Springtime sculpt, planning. Onto the mock up photos. I'll be showing this off to a few fellow modelers soon, and getting some input form them. Kanae has pre-viewed this layout, and although surprised by the size, so far she has approved. The creative process on the desk. Friday, March 22, 2013.
