OKI'm shite with writing this. but this time it wasn't slackness but worse.even though I vowed to myself to keep writing even when things healthwise aren't great I screwed up an stopped anyways. I suck. Ahcan you all hear the violins? Hehe, enough of this. For the few of you who have kept reading this - here's another post. Me being a frustrated, grumpy, in self-pity drowning biatch I thoug...

This is Janka s blog about travelling with Cystic Fibrosis. Saturday, January 28, 2006. So here we go. Today is Saturady and I'm in Cape Town, took a train this morning at 4.30am (the only train going from Worcester to CT), which means I had to get up at 3 o'clock this morning.but what am I doing.I should start with my arrival at the kibbutz on Monday. Well, it must have been some Aussie, cos the guys "down under" have quite a different understanding of distances (as I had to learn the hard way! My pierc...

You never know your luck in a big city. Monday, February 02, 2009. For today it is snow day, and all those who awake to a footpath covered in black ice need not venture out into the streets of London.'. Fortunately, I have enough emergency supplies (icecream, miscellaneous frozen vegetables, soup) to withstand the 18 or so hours of testing snow conditions. Others who weren't so fortunate had to *sucks air through teeth* go outside! I am being facetious of course. February 1 - January 0. You never know yo...

You never know your luck in a big city. Tuesday, January 06, 2009. When the Lord made me.". As I walk the streets of London at the moment, one sound is pervasive - more common than any other I hear. It is the sound of breath swiftly sucked back through the teeth, instinctively, against the cold. Portions of the expat community here decided not to cling any longer. I'm hoping their decision was premature, but with the daily headlines rather depressing, the temperatures sub-zero and feeling a little be...

You never know your luck in a big city. Sunday, December 16, 2007. Originally uploaded by adelvice. My toes were very cold at the point this picture was taken. My tummy on the other hand, was not. :-). I promised you that I would blog soon, properly. And here I am! Yesterday. on a trip down to the German Christmas Markets in Kingston, I went into the computer shop and did what I should have done weeks ago. I bit the bullet and bought a new keyboard. Hurrah. It's all rather busy, and nice. I do miss h...

You never know your luck in a big city. Wednesday, May 21, 2008. A mildly depressing by-product of the travel (which don’t for a moment, think I don’t enjoy) is that the novelty wears off. Not that long ago, entering airports still gave me that slight nervous feeling in the bottom of my tummy; packing the night before was exciting, sitting in the confines of an aeroplane cabin was cool and not irritating and the window seat was a coveted prize. Anyway, given my good fortune in being allocated a seat with...

You never know your luck in a big city. Saturday, August 16, 2008. If I said that the past three months of blogger silence was a test to you, my loyal readership, would you believe me? I am with Ellie and Claudia in Krakow. We are on the first full day of an 18 day day Central European odyssey. Monday night we catch a train to Vienna, then on to Ljubjana and Bled in Slovenia, then to Croatia for a week of beaches and not much else. Did you thnk about INFORMING me before you did this? Right, rant over.

You never know your luck in a big city. Monday, January 14, 2008. I am currently in Bucharest writing this from my blackberry. Forgive the poorly thought out ideas. Am blogging as best as I can from the comfort of my hotel bed in a country where the water is apparently brown sometimes. I suspect I may have started a fire with that burst of capriciousness! Could I live in it? As is the prospect of 8 uninterupted hours of sleep. Starting now. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). To be a citizen does not mean merely...

You never know your luck in a big city. Sunday, February 17, 2008. Only an excerpt. I wish I could have been there to see this. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). To be a citizen does not mean merely to live in society, but to transform it. If I transform the clay into a statue I become a Sculptor; if I transform the stones into a house I become an architect; if I transform our society into something better for us all, I become a citizen. You never know your luck in a big city. London, United Kingdom.
