Is there anybody out there? I’ll be sharing some photos and videos of paintings I’m working on, too. At the moment, I’m busy with commissions for Christmas, which I can’t share too much about as obviously they’re gifts, but certainly with my own work and plans for the future, I’ll happily post progress photos and information. Rain, Rain, Go Away! I’m gearing up now for the busiest couple of months I’ve ever had, and keeping everything crossed that the torrential rain stops soon. I’ve booked a trade stand space at the Cheshire Show, Tabley Showground (19th and 20th June), but am getting a bit nervous that if this wet weather carries on, it will be cancelled. 25th November, 2014. Well, as usual, my time-keeping has gone to pot. One week in, and I’m already a day late writing the blog! SO here’s the first ever Same Sky picture, and the photo it was taken from. The view is my back garden, late afternoon on this chilly but sunny March Monday. I’ve done a watercolour wash background, then used pastels and pencil pastels to capture the vibrant colour clash of the warm orange brickwork and the lovely blue sky. The newspaper pieces concern two stories that jumped out at me today when I read the paper: the Cyprus bank panic, and the 20th anniversary of the Warrington bomb. You may use these.

Same Sky, #2. Fr the second day of a brand new project, today’s picture was a bit….tricky. The sky – the central theme of the whole thing – has been that bland, non-descript grey which is devoid of all interest or attraction. If I commission you to paint a portrait of my child or pet, how do you do it? I’ll either use your photos to work from, or I can take my own. I have several digital cameras to work with, and can come and take as many shots as are needed. Christmas here we come…. Well, a busy but soggy summer has been & gone, and suddenly Christmas is in my sights! Thanks to some great commissions from the Cheshire Show & the RHS show at Tatton, plus a variety of commissions from friends, I’m already planning work until the end of November. It’s been a while since I blogged, so I thought I’d better get back on it with some new ideas!
