VASSA partners with various silent sport focused organizations to either co-host an event or act as a supporter at theirs. This can include being involved from the planning stage as with the Snowshoe Celebration, providing refreshments at various marathons and races or being on hand with information about silent sports in the Northwoods. The snowshoeing options in our area are endless. There are two basic venues: using snowshoe trails and striking out on your own. In April 2010 VASSA was commissioned by the Vilas County Forestry, Recreation and Land Committee to partner with the North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (NCWRPC) to develop a Countywide Bike/Ped Route and Trail Plan. The objective of the plan was to guide Vilas County government and its volunteer trail groups to create a system of interconnected bicycle and pedestrian trails throughout Vilas County.
