Birders Against Wildlife Crime. Gaucin weather - Live! Friday 26 December 2014, Gaucin, sunny, calm air-light W-SW wind, 18C. Super conditions down on the Rio Genal this morning but sadly, few birds! A handful of Griffon Vulture drifted over and there was a single Grey Heron, Great-spotted Woodpecker, a couple of Common Chiffchaff, several Blackcap and Black Redstart. Over the next hour there were a couple of Common Raven and the Griffon numbers built up to a total of 200. El Hacho from Camino de Casares.

Birders Against Wildlife Crime. Gaucin weather - Live! Monday 04 May 2015, Gaucin, partly cloudy, calm air-light W-SW wind am, light-fresh W-NW wind pm, 26C. In Sevilla (where it was a very warm 35C) for the weekend but I had several reports from Gaucin of large numbers of Honey Buzzard continuing to move through. This morning there were 20 Honey Buzzard. At 1200hrs and a further 16, plus 7 Black Kite. A few singles and twos of Honey Buzzard were seen during the afternoon.

Today's windy conditions put a brake on Honey Buzzard migration but 10 Black Kite. And 1 White Stork. Were reported over Gaucin around 1500hrs (per Tim Birkhead). The first Red-necked Nightjar. Of the year was reported over Calle del Pino during the evening (also per Tim Birkhead). Thanks to Tim for the two photos below:. Crested Tit alongside its nesting hole.
