Mommy on the Edge: May 2015
http://mommyontheedgeof.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 17, 2015. Is it body shaming? It's also about learning to tolerate a dress code, almost all employers have one, so why wouldn't you want your kids to learn to follow one? This is another great example of Americans being too sensitive, it's not about YOU it's about everyone, and it's the rules, DEAL WITH IT! Would you rather have to wear uniforms ever day? I'm not a fan, but maybe it IS the answer to the problem. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Is it body shaming? View my complete profile.

What I REALLY Meant to Say : August 2012
http://wirmtsw.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
What I REALLY Meant to Say. Tuesday, August 21, 2012. How to Make Me Unhappy. Stepping into a puddle of water from melted ice while wearing socks. Let's face it. It was an ice cube. We all know this. But my brain tells me that I stepped in throw up or dog piss or dog shit. People who don't pick up dropped ice cube and attempt to kick it under the fridge instead. No need to explain this one, I don't think. Squishing the tube of toothpaste, right smack in the middle. Water spots around my kitchen sink (or ...

What I REALLY Meant to Say : September 2012
http://wirmtsw.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
What I REALLY Meant to Say. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Does anyone out there have a twelve year old son that on the one hand, he is the kindest, gentlest, sweetest soul.but then on the other hand, he can do something that seems heartless, thoughtless, cruel and stupid? Am I the only one with their hand raised at this question? These last few days have had me thinking, where in the hell is the child that I have raised? Oh yeah. He's in seventh grade now. That explains a good bit, I do believe. What in t...

Find My Eyes: October 2014
http://phatjaye.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2014. We are, at long last, and confidently, hopeful. My wife was the first to say something. She came to me and said "have you ever noticed the baby girl rolling her eyes? There's something I don't like about it.". I started noticing it, too. All of that information was from WebMD. I found pretty much the same information on Hopkins Medicine, Mayo Clinic, NIH, and even Wikipedia. Where I didn't find any of that information was from my daughter's neurologist. So, we took Jade to he...

Find My Eyes: April 2015
http://phatjaye.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Till Human Voices Wake Us. I overheard a conversation the other day between Jade and her babysitter. I only caught the tail end, but it was lovely. Dee: "Well, Jade, if Dee could be in two places at once, that would be a wonderful fantasy world". Jade: "And there would be an octopus! One thing that we have been working on with Jack is better pragmatic speech skills. Pragmatic speech (put simply) is how to have a conversation, turn-taking, when to STOP talking, etc. Jack h...Fanta...

Find My Eyes: Fly
http://phatjaye.blogspot.com/2015/06/fly.html
Tuesday, June 2, 2015. And that, my friends, is a good thing. The mountain house that we both wanted to be scattered from. Third grade was amazing for all of us. We had an amazing teacher. We had an amazing team. We made amazing friends. We caught up academically. We caught up socially. But I had very little to do with any of that success. Sure I did homework. Sure I drove to therapies. Sure I filled out permission slips. I am so proud of how hard you have worked this year. You we're talking with your mo...

This is why I drink wine...: June 2012
http://www.whyidrinkwine.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 9, 2012. Ah, swimsuit season. How I loathe thee. I have shed some weight lately. Not as much as I had hoped to by the start of summer, but 20 pounds is no small feat, either. I'll keep trying. Meanwhile, I need a new swimsuit. I was wearing a 16/18. Not anymore! That's the good news. I've been swimsuit shopping twice in the last week. No more plus sizes for me! Now, I'm trying on 12s (and even some 10s! This is a Big Deal. Well isn't that fantastic. The girls end up either squished flat, o...
