https://brandonmat.wordpress.com/2011/03/05/3rd-day-in-japan
Adventures and other stories from around Japan. 3rd day in Japan. So it’s now the 3rd day I’ve been here and I’m having the time of my life. Spent the first 2 days in traditional japanese royokan with a great group of people – people from Canada, Australia, Germany, London, and France. Here’s a pic of the hostel. Now that I’ve parted my first group, I’ve met a few girls from France and we may go out to Roppongi for the night! Here’s the view from the new hostel:. Kamakura Earthquake →. You are commenting...

Adventures and other stories from around Japan. I have my backpack ready and my luggage is good to go. My flight leaves tomorrow around noon and I can’t wait to hit the streets of Tokyo. I have booked my first 2 nights in the Toco hostel. In downtown Tokyo, and it will be an adventure in itself to find my way there. I want to climb Mt. Fuji. I want to spend a day / night at a Buddhist temple. I want to take part in a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony. I want to visit the tuna market , and get fresh sushi.

Adventures and other stories from around Japan. After spending a week in Tokyo, I decided to head to Kamakura for 2 days. Kamakura ( a little history if you’re interested. Was a great town – it’s a smaller more rural area, filled with temples and is right on the ocean. The first day, I rented bikes with 2 other people and we rode around to the ocean visiting temples on the way – here’s a picture I took of the famous big buddha:. 3rd day in Japan. With articles being released in the Japan Times with the title of “Be objective, not sensationalist, foreign media told” [1]. I can safety say that I’m not the only skeptic of Western news. Or just read his blog. Here’s a great talk he did at Pop Tech (highly suggest watching it – worth the 20 minutes):. The Quest for Resonance. How do you want to be remembered? The Hiatus is Over. June 1, 2012. September 12, 2012. There are a few reasons as to why I have chosen to restart this blog today… The first, and probably the least influential reason is that today, June 1, marks my one year anniversary at Everyday Health. I promise restarting a blog is not exactly my idea of a good time, but having a year under my belt in the workplace is a milestone! For starters, I feel like I know something now (not a lot, but.

The Quest for Resonance. How do you want to be remembered? July 23, 2012. July 23, 2012. I’ve been avoiding Pinterest for about a year now and when I say avoiding I mean. And then it hit me I have been using the internet for so long, too long, without a notepad or a to-do list . I’ve been reading so many things that I have no way of remembering. Sure, I could use my bookmarks bar but really? Then it hit mePinterest! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). The Mean...

The Quest for Resonance. How do you want to be remembered? What I learned from Lance Armstrong. November 12, 2013. November 12, 2013. The foundation wasn’t the one on the bike! Even as Lance skirted questions and talked about things he wasn’t asked, it dawned on me he’s still trying to come back. To save his reputation and control how he’s perceived in the public. Through all of his dialogue, he’s never come. He’d tell you he did nothing wrong. He ruled his team through fear and rank, and he ruled the pu...

The Quest for Resonance. How do you want to be remembered? June 4, 2012. June 4, 2012. I have been having a similar discussion with friends of mine looking for work recently, and sooner or later the same questions come up. “Did you deactivate your Facebook account when searching for work? 8221;, “Do you attach your Twitter account to you LinkedIn Profile? This will just add a layer of detail to the profile I had built for these people in my mind anyways…so I began to read. I made that resolution 3 months...

The Quest for Resonance. How do you want to be remembered? September 13, 2012. September 13, 2012. If you don’t have your health, what do you have? This adage rings true as we approach the golden years of our lives but I’d contest physical health is vital to a full life at any age. It gives you more confidence in your personal life, it makes you feel more focused and energetic, it even helps you earn more money at work! What I learned from Lance Armstrong. The Quest for Resonance. How do you want to be remembered? Managing Brands Across Borders. April 4, 2011. June 1, 2012. Nothing seems more difficult to manage than a global brand. How do you make sure your values, associations, and key differentiators translate to different languages and cultures how you intended? Just ask Chevy about the Nova. “No va” in Spanish means, “It Doesn’t Go”). So that’s it right? Offer a few sandwiches the locals like and our brand will take off! The Hiatus is Over. You are co...

The Quest for Resonance. How do you want to be remembered? What Makes a Fad? April 4, 2011. June 1, 2012. This question has always plagued me. Why do some products last for decades and some products last for weeks? Inventors make a quick million and then see their sales and popularity drop off like my athleticism after the age of 19. Can anyone else believe someone is a millionaire because they shaped multicoloured elastics into pre-determined shapes and sold them at 100x their real value? I had a pair, ...

Thursday, March 29, 2012. Correlation between reading and math. In 2004, there was a .932 correlation between reading and math scores on the California CST (blog.mrmeyer.com). As Mr. Meyer and others have pointed out, we are thus double penalizing our students for not knowing the language of mathematics. math | Just another WordPress.com site
Just another WordPress.com site. February 24, 2012. January 18, 2012. Hey, I felt like showing you guys a little and easy math magic trick. First, choose a number from 1-10. Then double it, add 6 and divide by 2. You will then have to subtract that number frm the one you had at the begining. Now the number you have it your head is 3. You can choose to add whatever number you want, the answer at the end will always equal half the numer you added. Divide by 2: 57. Subtract 7: 50, which is the half of 100!

Brandon Mathis : Design Enthusiast. X000A; by: Brandon Mathis posted: March 2nd, 2011 . I needed a good HSL color picker, so I built one. Check it out ». This was designed in browser using CSS3, Javascript, and HTML. Zero images. Sliders use CSS3 gradients which change as the sliders move. Every color change generates 745 new colors to restyle the site. The URL updates with the hex color code, for easy color sharing. Use the arrow keys on the slider inputs to move 5 steps at a time. It’s open source.
