A working diary of my textiles journey. Tuesday, 27 October 2009. My cunning plan to make the silk paper softer by rinsing it and hoping to get the extra glue out of the paper did not work. However all was not lost as I found that I could peel the layers apart and have two pieces of silk to play with. Here are the results I will look at adding some more embellishment to the blue one. It is true the more you do the more ideas you have, I am much more of a practical person than writing, drawing ideas.

A working diary of my textiles journey. Tuesday, 11 August 2009. I bought these frames a couple of weeks ago and finally got round to making the purses. I still have the beads to add but I will have to do that tomorrow morning, when the light is better and I feel like taking the time. This is where I bought the frames, www.nicolemdesigns.com.au. I have also included photos of Colin our cockerel. Not quite sure what is going wrong but despite having five females to choose from we don't have any chicks.

A working diary of my textiles journey. Tuesday, 10 November 2009. I have finished the art work on hearts that have been ongoing over the past couple of weeks. Now they are mounted and ready for sale on my Folksy site. That took an age to organise. Getting good quality photos is so important and I don't think I have got it right now! Wait and see what happens it doesn't help when the camera battery gives up half way through. I will leave you with some bright cheerful images on this dull day.

Thursday, 10 September 2009. After much much searching, we've finally (enormous sigh of relief) found a new house and it's in footscray near to flemmington racecourse. Haha, thankfully NOT this scary place though! We discovered you get more for your money over in the west. while my heart will always be in brunswick, the soaring rent has gotten ridiculous. Links to this post. This week in my creative space. With the deadline for the quilt project. Looming, it was time for me to get moving on my square.

Saturday, 8 August 2009. An example of a * keys in office* property. For the last month, heng and i have been on a bit of an adventure (downer) as we've been going head to head with the fierce rental market. it's been interesting (but mostly soul crushing) and we've had some laughs (between fits of tearing our hair out). Here's a run down of some rental language we've learned. Keys in office now*. Is code for 'this place is a complete dump'. Means small and claustrophobic. Means smothered in gray cement.
