In case you haven't heard, calving season has not been a breeze at the James Farm this year! First we pulled the calf, Guenther, who was very stupid and wouldn't eat and ended up dying after we put a bunch of work into him. Then there was Hazel, whose mother's udder was too big for her to milk off of. So she was forced unto Guenther's mother and is now doing great! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Clearwater County Fair 2011, Take 1. We made it through another fair week! I say this because Jacob and I love the fair and Scott really doesn't mind missing it! But we get through it and actually have some fun while we're at it! This year was Jacob's third year showing pigs! We took five total: three gilts and two barrows; Mamma. Mia, Bernadette, Duke, Daisy, and Raj. Jacob did excellent! He was very focused and extra enthusiastic! The pictures below are courtesy of Amy Rankin!

Sunday, November 7, 2010. Pumpkin Carving and Tubes. I hope this fall has been treating you well! We had a miserable September, but October has made up for it with gorgeous fall days including a few reaching 80 degrees! October has also been dry which means Scott has gotten field work done beyond what they can usually crunch in before the weather gets bad! It's been quite enjoyable! Jacob has been keeping us on our toes since we've moved! I pwetend I sleeping! It was pretty neat and I was kind of proud!

Sunday, August 29, 2010. Tori is 2 months old today! Seems like just yesterday that she was born. She has her two month checkup tomorrow. CAT insurance doesn't cover her shots, but we have heard that there is a federal program that can cover them. We will find out at her appointment tomorrow. If she doesn't get them tomorrow she has to go to the health department to get them. Here are some pictures of her in her Bumbo and a few others! That's all I have for now! Thanks for checking in!
