Thursday, May 25th will be NPS's Historic Preservation Traing Center's (HPTC) 40th Anniversary Work Day at the Shafer farm. Details will follow. Has also pledged their participation!

Battle of Crampton’s Gap September 14, 1862 Burkittsville Tour (starting from the east). The Dr. John E Garrott house, circa 1840. Dr. Garrott was a local physician who offered his services to Army Surgeon Alfred Castleman. The porch, cross gable, and projecting bay were probably post-war alterations. The Isaac Bond Map of 1858 showing the existing buildings and ownership of the properties. Note that St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, which was built in 1859, is not shown.
