Thai Birds 'n' Pies. Birding Photography and the Occasional Pie in Thailand. Monday, November 5, 2012. Kaeng Krachan (the first weekend). The first trip to KK since re opening this year turned up a few nice sightings for me. It did seem a bit quiet on the bird front, but we still saw quite a few. A nice little group of Chestnut Headed Bee-Eaters. Taking a dip in the stream at Bang Kran. Plenty of Red Throated Flycatcher. S around the camping area, a lonesome Verditer Flycatcher. S, Crimson Sunbirds.

Back to work next week and no more holidays til October, when the park is closed anyway. So maybe the odd weekend if it's possible to pick one that's not busy! Well the trip as always was a welcome getaway and I got some of my best pics to date. Day 1 It was nice to see the Scop's Owls. But the Banded Broadbills.

Thai Birds 'n' Pies. Birding Photography and the Occasional Pie in Thailand. Sunday, May 11, 2014. A trip to Mae Wong had been on the cards for a long time now and since we had a few days spare we finally got there a few weeks back. I had researched about the resident Koon flies there, so extra protection was in order. A beautiful place to visit with some stunning scenery, but those flies! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
