http://antermonyrise.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Fly fishing, fly tying and friends. My Fly Tying Videos. Saturday, 13 July 2013. A Day to Remember on Loch Walton. Esterday I thought I'd died and gone to fishing heaven. You see, I was fishing Loch Walton in the Campsies. Those of you who know it, will understand my excitement. It's a magical loch, remote and as wild as can be for these parts. Indeed looking around, you could be forgiven for thinking that you were fishing one of the hill lochs in Assyint or the Connemaras. First fish of the day. During ...

Antermony Rise: May 2013
http://antermonyrise.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Fly fishing, fly tying and friends. My Fly Tying Videos. Friday, 31 May 2013. Thursday, 16 May 2013. Broon, as he's known to his pals, and I had agreed to meet up at the fishery early doors. It was a still morning, overcast with some bright spells. I arrived at 8:30am and with no sign of Broon I paid my ticket and made my way up to the loch. Twenty minutes later my flies, a Rainbow Warrior and Claret Dabbler were taking their first swim attached to Cortland blue intermediate. Broon with the first of many.

Fly fishing the River Taff, Clydach and surrounding South Wales Rivers. Tag Archives: Harvey angling. Grayling in the margins. Well what a bloody mess this weather has been, rain rain rain! Rivers are in full flow and haven’t dropped much at all. I almost gave up and thought I would wait for the trout season to kick in but finally the rain stopped just enough for the river to drop and clear a little. Not ideal conditions but there we are, we have to make the most of it sometimes! Dan was well into the gr...

Fly fishing the River Taff, Clydach and surrounding South Wales Rivers. Tag Archives: Nicholas Steedman. Only a few days of the trout season left now and to make the most of it my good friend, Nicholas Steedman, and I spent a day on a small stream hoping to find some late season trout. A cold night meant that the fishing was slow in the morning although we both caught some lovely small trout in their spawning colours:. The standout fly of the day was this hot spot nymph:. And tagged brown trout images.

Fly fishing the River Taff, Clydach and surrounding South Wales Rivers. March Brown Fly Pattern! It’s that time again that the March browns are starting to show up in and around the large dark olive hatches so I had to restock the dries box for the pattern that I use to match the hatch. I didn’t have many left from last year so it was a few hours on the vice and I was ready to go! This trout below was one of them fantastic days🙂 Watching and waiting will pay off in the end! When I get to the river bank ...

Fly fishing the River Taff, Clydach and surrounding South Wales Rivers. Tag Archives: fly fishing. The season is well under way here back in south wales but its not easy as norm for this time of year! Fishing this time of year can be tough and can only be a few short hours of action in the day and that’s if the flies hatch. Being so early, the main flies that hatch are the large dark olive. Hatches have been starting around 11am to around 2pm but depending on the weather conditions! March 28, 2016. The r...

Antermony Rise: December 2012
http://antermonyrise.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Fly fishing, fly tying and friends. My Fly Tying Videos. Friday, 21 December 2012. I've never really been a fan of epoxy or resin; always found it too messy and in any case I've managed to get as good, if not better results slapping on 4 coats of Hard as Nails. But over the last couple of years I've been watching Davie Mcphail's and more recently Chris Sandford's vimeo.com/41312025. Friday, 14 December 2012. The Majors stocking filler.
