Adventurer, Athlete, Artist from the Columbia Mountains. There is something special about running that I really enjoy. Running has a different sense of appeal than climbing, skiing or biking. The simple beauty of only needing a pair of shoes and the ability to tie your laces in order to have a great time, creates an undeniable attraction. Mel on top of Abbot Ridge. Alpine running in the Southern Selkirks. Mel in the meadows east of Mt. McCrae. A nice view of the Selkirks. Views in the Southern Rockies.

Driving to and fro from the concrete jungle of Calgary, AB to the frosty peaks, icy rivers and wildflower filled meadows of the Canadian Rockies weekend after weekend as a child engrained a deep appreciation for all the creature comforts that the wilderness provides. The freedom of the hills has found me, and Revelstoke is now the place that I reside. In hopes of helping those ...

Adventurer, Athlete, Artist from the Columbia Mountains. A Wonder thru Waterton. Until last summer…. A Wonder thru Waterton. We end up having 2 very, very solid days in which we were covering approx 35-50 kms and over 3000m vertical a day. We did not tag nearly as many summits as we had intended but we did circumnavigate pretty much all of the western section of the park. Waterton Lakes National Park. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Adventurer, Athlete, Artist from the Columbia Mountains. As the cloud layer started to lift off, after a record breaking month of June, in which we saw as many heavy rainfall warnings in one month as we did heavy snowfall warnings for the entire winter. There started to be patches of green and grey mixed into the thick blanket of white that had been covering the alpine playgrounds of the Columbia mountains. More alpine adventures to come….
