A Flagon of Ale: February 2012
http://flagonofale.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
A Flagon of Ale. Beer drinking and brewing from the Twin Cities. Tuesday, February 7, 2012. This past weekend was Winterfest. The sister festival to fall's Autumn Brew Review. Where ABR is generally packed and outdoors, Winterfest is a bit more austere, hosted in the beautiful Minnesota History Center, and limited to 700 tickets. But it seems be generating a lot of interest and excitement and I haven't heard much backlash. Perhaps some will succumb to market forces etc, but so far, it seems, so good.

A Flagon of Ale: August 2011
http://flagonofale.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
A Flagon of Ale. Beer drinking and brewing from the Twin Cities. Monday, August 15, 2011. A request to bars. Please, can we start serving beer in the proper glassware? I think we've outgrown the straight-sided shaker pint glass. It's fine sometimes, but if we're going to take the time to serve beer from 3 different continents (and likely at $6 a pint) it's not too much to ask to have them served in different glasses is it? Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Brew City, USA. Either way, I'll surely be back to che...

HEDONIST BEER JIVE: I LOST BELGIAN ROULETTE - DES GEANTS "SAISON VOISIN"
http://hedonistbeerjive.blogspot.com/2010/04/i-lost-belgian-roulette-des-geants.html
Wednesday, April 21, 2010. I LOST BELGIAN ROULETTE - DES GEANTS "SAISON VOISIN". One of our favorite games here at the HBJ is "Belgian roulette", a game where you risk $5-$6 of your hard-earned money on a Belgian bottle you've never heard of nor have any idea what to expect. As we say in the trade, "Sometimes you win, sometime you lose". I remember the time I won - BIG - on a bottle of DE DOLLE OERBIER. I bought a bottle of DES GEANTS SAISON VOISIN. Posted by Jay H. HEDONIST BEER JIVE: A FEW MINUTES WITH A NEW GLARUS “COFFEE STOUT”
http://hedonistbeerjive.blogspot.com/2010/04/few-minutes-with-new-glarus-coffee.html
Monday, April 19, 2010. A FEW MINUTES WITH A NEW GLARUS “COFFEE STOUT”. Earlier in the year it seemed nigh impossible that we’d ever get to try beers from Wisconsin-only brewery NEW GLARUS BREWING. If you’ll allow for it, please spend another minute or so here scanning what I had to say about it. Now don’t go mistaking this beer for one of the oily, monstrous imperial things that taste like the grounds of Peets’ dark espresso roast run through an acid bath. NEW GLARUS COFFEE STOUT’s. HEDONIST BEER JIVE: DE DOLLE OERBIER – OH YEAH!
http://hedonistbeerjive.blogspot.com/2008/05/de-dolle-oerbier-oh-yeah.html
Tuesday, May 06, 2008. DE DOLLE OERBIER – OH YEAH! Now this was a great surprise – like the Fort Collins. Beer we reviewed yesterday, it was enjoyed immensely at the Homewood Suites in Overland Park, Kansas just over a month ago – I’m only now cleaning out my beer tasting notes after a few weeks of inactivity on this blog. It’s not like we stopped drinking or anything! From Esen, Belgium, just looked right sitting there on the shelf of some random liquor emporium I wandered into – I mean. Posted by Jay H.

HEDONIST BEER JIVE: LAID-BACK CALIFORNIA DRINKIN’ IN BROOKLYN, NY
http://hedonistbeerjive.blogspot.com/2008/05/laid-back-california-drinkin-in.html
Wednesday, May 07, 2008. LAID-BACK CALIFORNIA DRINKIN’ IN BROOKLYN, NY. I kinda flipped when I learned there was an entirely Boston-themed bar (. That is, a bar made entirely in tribute to the city of Boston. In San Francisco, but would you believe a Northern California-themed beer bar in Brooklyn, New York? Yeah, that’s what I said too:. 8220;I hope that means loads of IPAs”. Well as it turned out PACIFIC STANDARD. 8221; in Berkeley, California. There are “Go Bears! One thing I really dug was that it.
