Dreams

Dreams take me back. To another place and time. To a time when I was younger. Full of life and in my prime. If only I could dream now. As I did back then. Without any doubts and fears. Willing to take a chance again. But this is reality my friend. Where life can be cruel. Like a lion stalking his prey. In a jungle without any rules. You feel his ever presence. You look but cannot see. You know you're going down. But when you can't foresee. If only I could dream. With security and hope again.

Full of laughter, happiness and joy. Goodbye, my love. To the home which we once shared. Now there are only memories. Of a time when we both cared. Goodbye, my love. To your not being faithful and true. No longer will I wonder. Where you are or what you do. Goodbye, my love. To your ever strength to lean on.

Whispering Trees

While traveling through an unknown town. On a cold and blustery day. I came upon a group of trees. Who beckoned to me to stay. I parked my car in puzzlement. And began to take a walk. At first the trees were hushed. And then they began to talk. A sense of calm came over me. When I knew what I came to find. Was within myself all along. As I gained a peace of mind. I walked slowly to my car. As I looked back at the trees. And at the end of the forest. I fell down upon my knees. I looked up at the snowy sky.

In my role as a single mother,. I fear losing my beloved firstborn. As he endeavors down life's path. His nurturing from me outgrown. He'll seek knowledge from another source. With qualities instilled from the first;. Of discipline, love and kindness. As I quenched his hunger and thirst. I fear not being able to hear his voice. His residual "ni-nite" from toddler years;. His coming home from a late night out. And waking me with "hi mom, I'm here". Nothing will keep me from thinking.

Magic of Your Touch. Strolling hand in hand. On the burning sand. I felt a power that. No time can ever erase. Was to take you in my arms. Remain with you forever. Hold you close and spend. Of my life with you. I loved you so. Then all my dreams came true. When I held you in my arms so tight. I saw your face in the morning light. I gently reached and brushed. A strand of hair from across your face. Holding you close in a lover's embrace. You are my very own angel. Sent from above to share.
