8230;and Russia because I didn't want to make a new blog. February 27, 2012. Scottish Football and Live Music. A huge group went Friday, and it was lots of fun. Unfortunately, it was not nearly as cheesy as many of us would have liked. The DJ said that people always request a lot of Top 40. Seems stupid to me – if you want to hear Top 40, why go to an event called Cheesy Pop? Also, if you’re DJing an event called Cheesy Pop, why play the requests that. At one point, one of the Motherwell players got a ye...

8230;and Russia because I didn't want to make a new blog. December 31, 2011. Excuse me for the corny, emotional post in advance, but the occasion calls for it. I’m leaving for Glasgow in three days, and the journey has already begun. I figured that the blog should start around the same time. I just happened upon a quote that really resonates with me and some of the reasons I decided to go to Glasgow despite all that has happened:. A Weekend of Feasting. Life as an ESL Teacher in Moscow. Build a website w...

8230;and Russia because I didn't want to make a new blog. February 21, 2013. I had the most amazing experiences traveling Europe and this summer I’m headed abroad again, this time with my boyfriend Seth. It’s been over a year since I left for Glasgow and I never actually wrote anything at the end of that trip so I guess I’ll do that now. I have friends all over the world, which is fun (especially when they send me postcards! One of the things I look forward to most this summer is a reunion with Raisah.

8230;and Russia because I didn't want to make a new blog. November 7, 2014. I’ve been in Moscow for almost two months now and have been meaning to write about it, but somehow it seems that whenever I think about writing I’m far away from my computer. I have too much to say so I’ll just start out with some general impressions of Moscow and Muscovites:. Aren’t you cold outside? We did see this guy on a recent trip to St. Petersburg though:. That was closer to what I expected of Russians. The metro is a blo...

8230;and Russia because I didn't want to make a new blog. December 5, 2014. We live in an old, Soviet apartment. That description may be a bit misleading – it may not be the cleanest place I’ve ever lived, but it’s fully decorated and it’s actually really cozy and nice. Living room (note the hand turkeys from Thanksgiving). Kitchen bench with fake brick wallpaper. Laquo; Previous post. Next post ». Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Corps Close-Up – A Peace Corps Journey from Jordan to Colombia
A Peace Corps Journey from Jordan to Colombia. A Peace Corps Journey from Jordan to Colombia. I thought I’d take this post to talk about schools in Colombia, since I will be spending a lot of time there. 8230;and Russia because I didn't want to make a new blog. December 14, 2014. Despite the fact that Russia celebrates Orthodox Christmas on January 7th, the Christmas spirit is already in full swing here in Moscow. Red Square has an ice skating rink, Christmas markets, ice sculptures, and the biggest Christmas tree I’ve ever seen. With the snow we’ve gotten lately, it’s a beautiful sight. Inside the GUM (“goom”) all decorated for Christmas. Christmas market outside GUM in Red Square. December 7, 2014.

Discoveries in Seattle . and beyond. Sunday, September 23, 2012. Great Wallingford Wurst Festival. The days are getting shorter and a little chillier here in Seattle, but the outdoor festivals are still going on. Before we hole up in our homes avoiding the rain, we try to wrest every second of warm, sunny daylight out of the calendar. There's a big school fundraiser in my neighborhood that happens every fall, The Great Wallingford Wurst Festival. The Uncle Stinky's booth was mobbed! We spent a lot of mon...
