Sunday Suppers and Everything In Between. Monday, January 2, 2012. Wow, I love this dessert. 1 can pumpkin (15 ounces). 1 can evaporated milk (12 ounces). 4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice. 1 box butter flavored cake mix (18 ounce box). 3/4 cup butter, melted. 1 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional). Mix first five ingredients in mixing bowl. Transfer ingredients into buttered baking dish. Sprinkle cake mix on top of pumpkin mixture. Drizzle butter all over top of cake mix. Top with nuts (walnuts) if desired.
