Cave Cibum: Pi Day for Ron
http://cavecibum.blogspot.com/2012/03/pi-day-for-ron.html
Beware the food (KAH-way KEY-bum). Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Pi Day for Ron. Pi Day (or March 14th for the 3.14 in Pi) never meant much to me. In school, I had a number of math teachers who tried to make it fun, but math was never my favorite class. Because I'd much rather remember Ron on a day like today, for reasons like pie. Bacon Chocolate Cream Pie. 1 1/2 cups crushed Oreos (about 15 cookies broken in a food processor). 3 Tbsp butter, melted. 1 pint heavy cream. 1 Tbsp powdered sugar. In a mixer, w...
Cave Cibum: Taking "Cave Cibum" a Little Too Literally
http://cavecibum.blogspot.com/2014/11/taking-cave-cibum-little-too-literally.html
Beware the food (KAH-way KEY-bum). Sunday, November 2, 2014. Taking "Cave Cibum" a Little Too Literally. Are you surprised to see a new post here? Truth be told, I got a little burned out with this project for a while, and when I finally had new things to write about, I wasn't too excited to actually follow through. But enough of my family has guilt-tripped me into writing again, so I guess you have them to blame for this (*cough*Berj*cough*). No one can pronounce Cave Cibum! I won't bore you with the de...

Beware the food (KAH-way KEY-bum). Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Flights and Flatbreads at Seasons 52. Last week, my parents had dinner with some friends at Seasons 52. A newish restaurant (part of a chain) in Burlington. Ever since, they've been talking about how much they enjoyed it and how they wanted to go back to try their Flights and Flatbreads menu. So I gamely tagged along with them Monday night to give it a shot. Says this runs until 6pm daily, but their website. Seasons 52 is a chain with 40-somet...

Really like how it turned out.). 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust. 1 1/2 cups sugar. 1 stick butter (1/2 cup), melted. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Lexington, MA, United States. View my complete profile. A 'He Said - She Said' Blog on the Ergonomics of Eating. Friday, September 30, 2011. Dinner and a Cup of Coffee? What Were They Thinking? That discusses the impact of different types of foods and liquids in conjunction with each other, some wreaking havoc and blocking the proper ingestion of important nutrients. Labels: Appetite for America. Adjunct...

A 'He Said - She Said' Blog on the Ergonomics of Eating. Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Beware the Recipe Chain! Here it is, a few weeks before the big holiday season, and in pops an email about a Recipe Exchange. As an appetizer or bring a tasty Apple Cinnamon Crostada. To the brunch. When I heard recipe exchange, this is what was pouring into the inbox in my brain. The second recipe pops in, with an attachment, and the email reads:. I do not like clams, and I did not open this email. This is hilarious...

A 'He Said - She Said' Blog on the Ergonomics of Eating. Sunday, March 24, 2013. Raise Your Hand If You Would Taste Expired Frosting. I'm heading down to my Mother's house for Easter, and I offered to bring a cake or cupcakes knowing that I had some cake mix and frosting in the cabinet I recall buying a while back and wanting to use. It was one of those grocery store specials that was too good to pass up, I snagged a Devil's Food cake and Classic White frosting. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Dark chocolate...

Out Of My Head. June 25, 2012 at 8:57 am. Or having conversations with amazingly smart and inspiring people like Meg Tripp. Yes I read The Atlantic. Article, but I’ve largely ignored reading the kerfuffle over it whether in agreement or otherwise. Because for me that article articulated very accurately the struggle I manage every day. The voices that scream from the back of my head. I don’t think I could read anything more about it without taking it personally. What does having it all mean to you? When I...

Celebrating a heritage of Armenian recipes. Confused by American measures? Thursday, April 2, 2009. Harry Bichakjian learned to cook somewhere between the historic Armenian city of Kharpert and Chelsea, Massachusetts. Like so much about my maternal grandfather's life, exactly where and how that happened is a mystery. Many of these Armenians found themselves migrating again when the factories moved South in the 1920s, and Grandpa went along. So did my other grandfather, Harry Kalajian. I never met my gran...

Celebrating a heritage of Armenian recipes. Confused by American measures? Thursday, December 3, 2009. An Armenian Christmas Cookie Recipe. As I was flipping through the pages of an old Kalajian-family cookbook, a yellowed, slightly tattered piece of paper dropped to the floor. When I picked it up, I realized it was a newspaper clipping - obviously from an Armenian-American newspaper. Don’t know which one, or when it was printed. 2 cups sifted flour. 189; lb. butter or margarine. 190; cup sour cream.

Celebrating a heritage of Armenian recipes. Confused by American measures? Wednesday, August 12, 2015. What do you do when you’re out of lavash, you’re not near a store that sells it, and you don't feel like making it the traditional way? Make a stovetop version! I've been baking my mother-in-law's wonderful recipe for lavash. Cook #2 next to tonir. Lavash cook #1 in Armenia. Preparing this alone, I knew I had to work quickly and keep distractions to a minimum. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour(s) a...
