snoozin’ for a bruisin’ | another clashing cymbal
https://davewark.wordpress.com/2009/05/03/snoozin-for-a-bruisin
Snoozin’ for a bruisin’. I’m a big fan of the snooze button on my alarm clock. I’ve cut down slightly recently, but I used to regularly enjoy about 45 mins of snooze time. For the mathematically minded, thanks to Sony Ericcson’s inexplicable 9 minute snooze. I am able to ignore my alarm 5 times every morning before finally hauling my ass out of bed. My flatmate used to ridicule me for this. Why don’t you just set your alarm for 45 mins later? The art of meditation. Connection to our environment. Lyric ab...

2010: my year in film | another clashing cymbal
https://davewark.wordpress.com/2011/01/09/2010-my-year-in-film
2010: my year in film. The blogging train is back on track – here’s round two of my “hey, the date changed – I better tell people what I think about stuff! In the last couple of years I have watched a lot of films, and the main person to blame for this is Mark Davidson. When we were flatmates, he convinced me to get a Cineworld Unlimited card. And explained to me the virtues of LoveFilm. And during the Edinburgh International Film Festival. This has now become a monthly deal, and in the December edition.

a mark of bad caricature | another clashing cymbal
https://davewark.wordpress.com/2009/08/05/a-mark-of-bad-caricature
A mark of bad caricature. I was browsing the BBC News site when I came across a story. The church in all its disguises along with government and minority groups have made sure that its breaking some law or other to even get close to another human being without paying a tax, fine or be imprisoned. I’m sorry, what! I just can’t begin to fathom how someone would write this and not see how sensationalist and ridiculous a comment it is! Also, “The church in all its disguises”! OK, rant over! Address never made...

The Trick Is To Keep Breathing. Monthly Archives: May 2011. I would walk 500 miles…. May 20, 2011. About, isn’t going to help with that. Instead Le Homme and I are taking to the streets on our bikes tomorrow. We’re going to cycle the 46 odd miles from here to Edinburgh, stay at my sister’s, go to dinner with his brother, watch a bit of the marathon kick off on Sunday, and cycle home. Cos that’s how we roll. Smile Like You Mean It. May 19, 2011. Blogs posts and thoughts for the future to include:. Now, th...

The Trick Is To Keep Breathing. Newer posts →. Another Run Around The Sun. January 6, 2011. Let’s pretend it’s not actually, ahem, January 5th. Let’s pretend it is, in fact, January 3rd. The day which I had selected to be the Bright New Day. It was the first Real Day of the New Year! It was a Monday! It was so shiny and bright with promise! Until I awoke feeling. Really, terribly ill. A little bit poorly, and spent the day on the sofa watching the first season of Heroes (remember when Heroes was good?

The Trick Is To Keep Breathing. Monthly Archives: October 2010. October 20, 2010. Finally, there is good news to report! There has been a lack of blogging recently because I have been, wait for it, AT WORK. There is even better news. I don’t want to post a link to their site, as they seem pretty tech-savvy and I’d prefer they didn’t find this blog. If you email me (scotsfemme at gmail.com), I’ll pass on the link , as it’s totally worth a look. But I won’t do that…. October 8, 2010. I am utterly fed up wi...

The Trick Is To Keep Breathing. Monthly Archives: April 2011. April 22, 2011. Went to work for a few hours even though it was my scheduled day off, (surprise! Chocolate shop in gets-busy-at-Easter shocker! To make some truffles and bake a banana loaf. Waited as the bus went on an extremely long route going past my house twice, in order to get to Morrison’s to pick up some vital basics (deodorant, tin foil). A variety of flavoured couscous! Satay chicken on a stick! Bought a variety of chilled goods.

https://thetrickistokeepbreathing.wordpress.com/2011/06
The Trick Is To Keep Breathing. Monthly Archives: June 2011. June 8, 2011. I’m quite amused by a comment I made on this blog back in January, announcing my lack of New Years’ resolutions, and instead having a “vague, general intention to not be quite so rubbish”. It’s now June, and I haven’t improved in the slightest. Perhaps vague intentions are not sufficient for providing an impetus for change. Who knew? Have to send everything I have to identify me to the DVLA. Do I trust the Royal Mail?

The Trick Is To Keep Breathing. My Manic & I. As Is Now →. Heard the news today, oh boy. April 6, 2011. See what I did there? I can’t quite believe it’s April already, I feel a little discombobulated, as though the world just kept turning for a while there and I wasn’t paying any attention. I think that’s a feature of the long dark winter, a little bit of my brain dips into hibernation mode and I feel a little like I’m waking up, and going “Huh? This entry was posted in Uncategorized.
