Following God is always a great adventure. Friday, June 7, 2013. Eides have not traveled too far from home for a rather long period of time. Shari has gone to the ocean a few times with Jessie ( our own shore along the ocean, our bay by the sea. But they have not traveled far from their own beloved home beneath the mountain. O, they ran off out into the islands for a little island get-away for their anniversary. How Shari loves the smell! And she took the train to Portland with her sis ter to go to.

It was a lovely little visit. to a place i could have only dreamed about. where the indoor living was actually open to the out-of-doors. a beautiful place of warm hospitality. These built-on benches go all around the living space. There were purple tropical flowers floating on the ponds. It was a gorgeous place of wood and thatch, nestled into the edge of the jungle. We were on our walk and heard the drums of a marching band. so we hunted it down. lo and behold, it was a parade! With caballeros on hobby horses. And gorgeously decorated costa. Pulling girls in traditional costa. The detail just blew me away. The hydrangias here are gorgeous! And of course the exotic bird of paradise.

Following God is always a great adventure. Tuesday, September 10, 2013. A side trip to Panama. We finally got to go into Panama. We had been wanting to do that for years. From the border it was an hour's ride in a land taxi, then a half-hour ride in a river taxi. Til we came to a place of rest: The Terrazzza. Which had this little dock on which to hang out, watching the boats come and go, and the birds dive and fish, and the fish jump, and the sun set itself down in livid colors. Down the WeIDE path.
