Guilin is a very beautiful city. It's name means forest of Cassia trees. Outside our hotel, you can walk along the river. Both banks have stone paths, steps and small parks to rest at. At night, both river banks are lit up with colored lights. Our local guide for Guilin, Li Qing, is shown in the picture on the right. Send Us an Email.

In the morning we traveled to Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City. We were surprised at how large they both were. Tianamen Square is the largest square in the world. It was decorated with some beautiful floral scenes. Janet, Michelle, and Karen are in the picture. The topiary throughout the square were cut to represent various Olympic sports. Note: we have our own private bus with the national guide and the local guide. It was a cool day, so the panda were very active. They had 4, including a baby panda sleeping in a tree. The monks have a store that has samples of the 4 liquors they make and sell. So needles to say many of the people on the bus are quite happy. We left Montserrat at 3:10 pm and had a 1 hour ride to the fishing village of Sitges where we pickup a local tour guide for a 1 hour tour of the town. Warning!
