The Walking Stick: March 2015
http://yoopers11.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Musings from the backwoods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and America's backroads. Sunday, March 22, 2015. Big Horn Elk and Rainbow Trout. Yesterday morning, while Steve was loading the truck with road trip stuff and the dogs, (we took a day trip over the mountains), I quickly put together a blog post on my phone because it had been a few days. The post went well until I tried to "publish" it. All day it indicated Blogger was saving it. This morning Blogger said it was saving it. So, let me start over.

The Walking Stick: August 2015
http://yoopers11.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Musings from the backwoods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and America's backroads. Saturday, August 29, 2015. In honor of National Dog Day which came and went this past week, I thought I would share some pictures of my grandpuppy Gus. He is the most amazing grandpuppy ever. All grandparents of grandpuppies say that don't they? Look at this quiet little puppy with the wrinkled ear. Wait until you see him play Frisbee with Riley. Ready, Set, Go! I call out, "Whaat do you call that move, Gus? Great Job, Gus!

Musings from the backwoods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and America's backroads. Sunday, August 2, 2015. This post is for my oldest son who has been working in the sweltering heat of Oklahoma. During a recent phone conversation, he said, "Mom, I miss the dogs. Send me some pics.". Boy, do I have pics! So, if your a little tired seeing pictures of our Ike and Bear, you may want to skip this post. So we loaded up the dogs and we did. They would wade awhile, rest on the riverbank,. Then the other,. Chubby Chippy Cheeks | The Walking Stick
http://yoopers11.blogspot.com/2015/07/chubby-chippy-cheeks.html
Musings from the backwoods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and America's backroads. Monday, July 20, 2015. Chippy, as well as the neighborhood bears, likes my bird feeders too. He stuffs those cheeks chuck full of sunflower seeds. He doesn't mind that someone is watching him chow down. Well, maybe just a little. Or is he thinking about fitting a few more seeds in them already chubby cheeks. Just one more seed? Did you lose count? Am I distracting you? He's off to the little hole under our house.

The Walking Stick: November 2014
http://yoopers11.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Musings from the backwoods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and America's backroads. Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Back home from deer camp. I had a mother and her yearling, or should I say deer. And when I had had enough of all the above, took another peek out my window and saw nothing but a grouse in a tree as high up as me eating red berries, I played on my phone like you can see above. I organized the pictures on my phone, and then took pictures outside my window of the river. Of sunset at deer thirty.

The Walking Stick: February 2015
http://yoopers11.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Musings from the backwoods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and America's backroads. Saturday, February 28, 2015. I love wide open spaces where I am able to see the sky. I've said before in my post Sky Art. That I feel the sky is God's canvas. And sometimes a passing airplane lends a little paintbrush stroke to God's masterpiece. Even over an ole dirt country UP road. Links to this post. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Snow Egg in a Bird's Nest. It reminded me of this poem by Edward Thomas:. That leaves and b...

The Walking Stick: June 2015
http://yoopers11.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Musings from the backwoods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and America's backroads. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. This past weekend was a spectacular summer weather weekend, so we took a ride to a Lake Superior beach. There was barely a breeze but the temperature was just right. We didn't do any kayaking or swimming or even wading because:. 1 I'm a sissy and the water was too cold. 2 Steve cut his thumb on a table saw last week. The dogs must think this is the world's largest water dish. A few beach flowers.

Fun Four-Wheeling | The Walking Stick
http://yoopers11.blogspot.com/2015/07/fun-four-wheeling.html
Musings from the backwoods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and America's backroads. Monday, July 27, 2015. It is very dry up here in the UP, so coming across this jinourmous puddle surprised us. This is how dry the trails had been pretty much all day. But we had come a long way, so Steve decided to check it out before we turned around. So he backs up. One of My Favorite Things. Looks like a super day for a ride. B C. July 27, 2015 at 10:21 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to my Blog! On the ...
